Lopez GetAway
The wall of windows and covered porch make the place!! Private and quiet dead end road with access to beaches, walking& biking right out the door. Only a few minutes drive to Lopez Village for bike & kayak rentals, restaurants and shops. The kitchen is simply equipped, missing a few basics, with an awkward configuration if you are planning to cook.

Great place for two families!
Stayed here with my sister's family and mine, we had 3 kids and 4 adults, but really could have squeezed a few more in. Beds were plentiful and having 4 separate rooms was fantastic. The location was fabulous with great views and an awesome big backyard to play in. Only issue we had was a severe lack of cups! There were far too view drinking glasses and mugs for a large group. An extra cutting board would have been nice also.

The home had black mold in the bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom had horrible smell and the laundry room next to it was full of chemicals and rat traps. The bath towels were dirty. The home was not clean. The home manager was great with communication and we asked to leave the property and he refunsed us and apologized.

A nice base for a weekend on Lopez.
This was a nice place to stay and use as a home base for the weekend on Lopez. We came for the "Tour de Lopez" and especially enjoyed hanging out on the back porch after the ride. Due to conflicts that came up for some of the family, there was a lot more space than we needed, but it would be nice for a larger group, too, and the price was still very reasonable. It's a quiet location, a little out of the way, but very peaceful!

We all enjoy the house. Everything was pretty clean, but the kitchen needs an upgrade. Also all the pans and cooking utensils. The windows were pretty dirty on the living room but other than that everything was perfect.

The view is amazing, location and layout of home was great. The home needs some deep cleaning. There were spiders, in the closets, corners and edges of the carpet. Carpet had several stains. Appliances were old and refrigerator would not stay closed.

Great Location
Great location, great space and clean! The price is very fair and if there was a need, once it was able to be communicated the need was met immediately. Great open space in back, lawn games were entertaining! Use the space! Concerns included need for more basic amenities like kitchen towels, toilet paper, and we needed to call for kitchen garbage bags. The kitchen could use an upgrade in cookware, and the grill needs an upgrade or to be maintained. Concerns that are easily addressed and should not make the determination of booking the house or not! Thank you for the great vacation! We will be back given the chance!

Do Not Rent
Do not rent this house unless you plan to spend most of your stay cleaning it. The house is in horrible condition and customer service is nonexistent. Having stayed in many VRBOs and other rentals in multiple countries, I can safely say this is the worst rental I have ever encountered. The sheets were stained and dirty, the floors covered in dirt, stains on the walls, every dish in the kitchen was filthy, as were the pots and pans. We spent the entirety of our first night in the property washing sheets and towels (including towels in the pantry, which were also disgusting), and scrubbing the kitchen to make it usable. The "cleaning fee" the company charges is a scam, since it has very clearly not been cleaned in years. We notified the corporate owner/renter of the property of these issues by e-mail and text; but the company never replied. Other low-lights: * The roof leaks, so bring buckets. If it rains, it drips in the living room. * The back door was open and unlocked when we arrived, so there are clear safety concerns. * The kitchen appliances are ancient and barely functional. * The stove is so dirty that anytime you turn it on, it burns the residue from the past dozen occupants that the company never cleaned up after. * The barbecue grates are broken. * The lounges on the front deck are also broken. * In addition to the surface-level filth, the house needs a very, very deep clean. The stains on the walls and ceilings are obviously not new. It's tempting to give the house another star because of the location (excellent), how great Lopez Island is, and the ease of getting into Lopez village, but the reality is that the house itself is an embarrassment. You will have problems renting it, and the rental company is unresponsive.

Great location
We enjoyed our stay on Lopez Island. The only comment for improvement is we had to call three times during our stay for garbage bags, gas for the grill ( both tanks were empty) and only given 4 small rolls of TP and it was a special trailer kind that was very small. Not enough for 5 people for 7 days. I called each time we needed something and they were quick to bring it to us.

Nice get away
This was a cute and clean house. Very comfortable and relaxing. Close to town. Only suggestion two suggestions cut the lower grass for easier access to water and better garbage holders, wildlife got into the trash all weekend. Other then that it was peaceful!

Mouse poop on bottom level
There was mouse poop everywhere on the bottom level. The bedroom, and extra tv room, behind the couch, in the closets, under the bed and dressers. More and more accumulated over the week. No one has done anything about it, just a "sorry". We were unable to use the bottom level because of the mouse poop. It was a very frustrating experience. There was no where else to stay and we planned to go to the on a vacation with our family. The house is in a great location for biking places with littles. The upper level was cozy but too small for our family since we were planning on using the lower level too. Another thing that was disappointing was there was no dvd player even though it said there was. The property manager brought one over and left it on the table. No cords and he didn't even hook it up. It wasn't even the right kind. It didn't connect to the newer tvs. We were planning on watching our old family favorites before bed. The beach infront of the house was muddy and the trail down had old wood with some nails sticking out. I would not recommend this house to anyone unless the mouse issue has been taken care of. The experience with the house was very frustrating and disappointing. We love Lopez Island, but not this house!

Wonderful Accomodations
The home was wonderful - a quiet getaway in one of the most beautiful places on earth. We planned our stay over perhaps the worst (best!) weather circumstances possible (>12inches of snow)! The host went out of their way to ensure we knew exactly what weather conditions were present and made certain we would have the proper vehicle to access the property (gravel road without snow removal). The host found a snow shovel and cleared a parking area as well as a path to the front door - ensuring a safe and smooth arrival. The home itself was fantastic. Perfectly clean with everything we needed for a quiet get-away. The kitchen was perfectly equipped to prepare any food required, we were able to make breakfast, lunch and dinner, dessert and sugar cookies. We were warm and cozy with plenty of room in multiple gathering areas. The deck is large, the main TV/game/sitting area is very large. Additional TV/office area downstairs. It felt like it was our own little home away from home. I wish we could have stayed much longer! Ensure to keep everything clean, and food put away in the refrigerator. We did see a few ants in the kitchen, but it was not an issue. Certainly nothing to detract from staying there again.

Great location, amenities could use some work.
Great location for viewing the water. Amenities were minimal - had to improvise to make meals in the kitchen. Outside grill wasn't working properly. Bedrooms were okay but could use a few more night stands. Trash cans were not marked for recycling. It would have been nice to have the cable TV included. The note in the kitchen said we were "guest in the house" didn't make us feel at home.

Nice location on Lopez
Nice deck and excellent location. Close to nature preserve with nice hiking. Not far from town. Nice views, saw lots of bunnies and deer. Very quiet and peaceful. Beds overall comfortable but the pull out was not. Overall clean but carpet could use some cleaning/TLC. TV did not tune local channels or cable but you could watch a DVD. Grill needed cleaning and the auto lighter did not work. It would have been nice if there were more amenities like wood for fireplace, basic condiments like black pepper, tea bags or coffee. Need enough table settings for six adults. Need enough drinking glasses for six adults. There were only two wine glasses. Would stay again for a lower price. Price point was too high for the amenities even given the holiday weekend.

Perfect island retreat!
We stayed with our three children for a few days in the off season. The weather was perfect, the views from the deck ore incredible, and the trip was perfect! We brought breakfast and lunch stuff with us and found everything we needed in the kitchen. Dinner out at The Galley was delicious! We enjoyed our trip so much and can’t wait to return soon!

Nice stay on quiet Lopez!
This property is as advertised. It was nice for our family of 6 to use as a home base to explore the islands. Lopez is quiet and beautiful. Beds are comfortable and the property is clean.

Great location and a nice house. Would stay there again but more comfortable for 6 than 8.
The beds were comfortable but small but the hide-abed not so much. Definitely more comfortable for 5-6 than for 8. We enjoyed the place and it made a great home base to enjoy the island. It was a great place for walking to the Spit to watch the birds and the water. It took some scrambling but we were able to put our kayaks directly into the Bay right off the end of the yard. They could use some bigger mixing/ salad bowls and need to find or replace the remote for the VCR. But we were able to make do.

Subpar
Overall the house was ok, nice view of the water but hard to get down the bank to the beach. Plenty of room for 6 people but people in the basement can hear every move made upstairs. No cell phone service. Cable did not work, contacted rental agency but never heard back from them. Spiders in the basement. Table and chairs are very uncomfortable for any period of time. The one clock in the house was broken, even after replacing battery. Would not stay here again.

Overall nice, but lacking cleanliness and kitchen items
Good location, but hard to get down to water from steep eroding slope. Carpet was musty and stinky. Not many dishes or cooking utensils. Beds were nice and comfortable.

I will second a lot of the reviews. The house is clean, but basic. The view is beautiful. But I showed up and the house was FREEZING. Supposedly we couldn't check in early because the house was being cleaned, but it was so cold when we got there, there was actually condensation that developed on the glasses in the kitchen cupboards when we started to heat the house up it was so cold. And the cookware is lacking. I had read reviews and brought some of my own so that I wouldn't be frustrated. I was just underwhelmed with the home and wouldn't stay there again. But it wasn't the worst house I've stayed at in Lopez either.

Quiet and comfortable house overlooking the bay
We rented the house over the Thanksgiving weekend. Although it has 3 very nice bedrooms, is was only my husband and I. We absolutely loved the location, the views from the living room and spend hours in front of the fireplace. It was exactly the relaxing getaway that we had hoped for. The location is beautiful, not too far from the village, with beautiful views overlooking Fisherman Bay. We were able to walk to the beach at Otis Perkins Day Park and Fisherman Bay Spit Reserve. Each of the bedrooms were nicely decorated, and there was plenty of towels, dish towels, etc. The sofa and armchair are super comfortable. The kitchen is equipped well, we even cooked Thanksgiving dinner there. Only 2 thinks were missing. Real wine glasses, we had to drink our wine with dinner out of water glasses. There were enough glasses for the two of us, but if you rent the place with 6 or more, there are not enough glasses. We also used the fireplace every night, but we could not find any tools for the fire. My husband made do with a wooden stick. Altogether, we definitely would recommend the rental.

Serene and Beautiful Place For Our 20th Anniversary
This is a private, quiet, clean house on Lopez Island on the Bay. Watch the float plane come and go a few times and the cottontails bounce around the expansive lawn. Just keep in mind that there are two separate bedrooms with one double bed in each in case you want to sleep with your significant other. Other than that, it has everything you need and has an amazing view. We stayed for a week and explored Lopez and easily took the ferry to San Juan, went whale watching, and saw several other items as well. It was very sweet and romantic.

This house was fine for the five of us for the wedding weekend. It is not well built, so it was cold and drafty and anyone walking upstairs would easily disturb anyone trying to sleep downstairs. The kitchen was tiny and weirdly set up, but we only had one breakfast and a quick lunch there. Dinners were in town. The house was clean, the sheets and towels were clean, but there were no wash cloths. We rented bikes and rode around the island on Saturday morning and early afternoon. People were very friendly and helpful. We will not stay here again.

Great Family Vacation House!
This home provided exactly what we wanted- an accommodating space in a beautiful location. There was enough space for everybody and the layout provided privacy and also "kids space". Thing you may want to take into consideration when renting this home: Bring your own pots and pans. It was very difficult to cook for the family with one SMALL skillet that was sticky and the Teflon was shredded. Most of the cooking gear was sticky. Also, bring your own batteries- there are several remotes in the home- for TV, ceiling fan, cable box etc and only one set of batteries. Theirs home does provide a full washer and dryer which work well! The kitchen is well stocked with plates,bowls, silverware but be sure to bring your own spices & cooking oils. It's a great space, the view is lovely and we were so happy to spend our time here!

Great view and location, with a few missing beats.
The view from the house is lovely, the large yard great for kids, and plenty of room inside for six or seven people. (We had four adults and a child). What kept this from being a four or five-star experience is a list of little things that are not much individually, but taken all together were annoying. Examples: No gas in the grill. I called, but by the time they got back to me it was too late for dinner. (besides, we had no idea where to get a gas tank filled on an island where everything closes at 5) We then discovered the grill was missing parts anyway. No dish towels in kitchen. We made due with hand towels. The kitchen itself is (I’m being polite here) not terribly user friendly in design, also didn’t have much in the way of things like a large mixing bowl, etc. The check-out list asked us to put in a load of laundry, which we would have been happy to do if there had been any soap. To summarize, not a bad place to stay, but could use some upgrades.

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. Only a couple times we had to call and ask about things but the response was fast and always friendly. Only thing I would say is to do some small updating in the kitchen. Dishware that is. We would be sure to rent this home again in the future.
