Such a charming stay. The Sovereign has this nostalgic, old-school beach-house feel that made it feel less like a hotel and more like staying at your grandmother’s beautiful home by the ocean. It’s cozy, full of character, and has a warmth that’s hard to find in newer hotels. I absolutely loved it and would definitely stay again.

The property is well located, clean, stylish and exactly what we were looking for. The beds are comfortable and there is a small kitchenette that is stocked with coffee.

Réservation de 3 chambres pour un groupe : personnel agréable et à l'écoute des clients (merci pour la gestion du stationnement avec un gros Ford Transit).
Hôtel idéalement situé à Santa Monica. Chambres propres et bien équipées.
Seul l'ascenseur est peut-être un peu vétuste.

We loved staying at the Sovereign. It worked great for us, and was just a short walk to restaurants, the beach, the boardwalk and the Metro. It's in a neighborhood, so you totally feel comfortable walking around.

This is an absolutely gorgeous property. Very well situated for exploring Santa Monica and near all the amenities like beach, shopping restaurants, etc. Room is lovely and bed very comfortable and hotel is very quiet as well. The only slight problem we had was that we visited during an immense heatwave and the hotel has no air conditioning. It was okay for sleeping with the fans and windows open and I imagine this is a non issue any other time due to it's close proximity to the ocean. Loved that there was a kitchenette as well.

The Sovereign has won me over for all my future stays. The room was perfect with plenty of space and an ocean view. Not to mention the decor is perfect. Because it’s apartment style you will feel right at home. The windows stayed open and that ocean breeze was so refreshing, especially at night. If you’re traveling alone I highly recommend this place. It was safe, walkable to the beach, and other great places in the neighborhood. Santa Monica has such charming character & The Sovereign fits perfectly. You won’t be disappointed staying here.

Absolutely PHENOMENAL experience at this hotel from the moment I arrived until the moment I left! Chris and Jen run this property and they are the kindest and most lovely people! My room was absolutely PERFECT… an extremely comfortable king size bed, a lovely small kitchen and a wonderful bathroom! The beautiful hotel is about 1.5 blocks away from the ocean… a beautiful ocean breeze was always flowing through the windows! The area this historic property is located in is a very lovely residential section of Santa Monica… very safe area to walk around! Really charming and wonderful hotel that has so much character and elegance! A special thank you to Chris, Jen and their girls for having welcomed me and treated me with such kindness! I highly recommend this wonderful place for anybody looking for a Wonderful hotel in Santa Monica. A++++++

The hotel is in a great location in Santa Monica, and the building felt secure throughout my stay. The room also had a small kitchen, which was really handy. However, the biggest issue was the lack of air conditioning. Temperatures were over 30°C during my stay, making the room extremely hot and uncomfortable. I struggled to sleep at night and was constantly sweating because of the heat. The location and kitchen were definitely positives, but the lack of air conditioning really affected my overall experience.

It is a mixed use hotel and apartment complex. Historic building that is nicely restored. Room was very nice and clean. No AC but very good window ventilation with ocean breeze.

Not a typical hotel (no front desk, concierge or typical amenities) but hotel is in a beautifully restored 1928 Spanish mission-style bldg, one block from the ocean, and our room was large, stylish, clean and comfortable.
