Bed bugs!!
Woke up in the middle of my first night with bites all over my neck, face and arms. Bed bugs crawling inside the bed! Didn't sleep that night and had to quickly pack and change rooms at 3 AM. First the night manager said to go back to bed. But then he relented when I showed him photos of blood and bugs on the sheets. Ruined my short vacation in Lucca as I couldn't sleep the next day wondering what was lurking in the bed... Had to inspect everything carefully - clothes, suitcase, shoes for days. And the itching and discomfort from the bug bites lasted almost 2 weeks.
They said sorry and promised a refund. I contacted them about 10 times to follow up but they never sent me anything. I first thought they were sincere but now I find it hard to believe they were actually serious about it because they weren't very responsive and didn't seem to try very hard.
Furthermore they kept suggesting how inconvenient the bed bugs were THEM, and how people keep bringing them in! Newsflash: it's your customers who are the most affected, and it's not up to us to bear the brunt of your inconveniences. A refund would be start, at the very least.
