This hotel is conveniently located near the train station and to the charming, historic downtown area. Everything we needed was within walking distance. Our room was comfortable and the shower was large with great water pressure.

The place is close to many restaurants if you are a foodie and many shops are wakable.Find the place not very clean like dusty. Parking is very expensive but desk staff is accommodating when you checked in late.

Great hotel in a very convenient location next to Lucerne railway station. The hotel had a small lift to take luggage up but be warned there is no Air conditioning. Fans were provided in both rooms.

All in all a nice place to stay. Location was perfect for us. Close to restaurants and the train station Clean room, nice shower. Great balcony for watching lots of activities. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place.

The room was clean, a good size, the shower was nice and hot, the bed was comfortable, the hotel was in a convenient location. There was an air conditioner in our room. There were many positive things about Hotel Alpina, but there was also one major issue. We stayed for 6 nights. Of those 6 nights the smoke alarm for the whole building went off on 2 separate nights. There was no fire, no smoke, no reason to evacuate. There was also no staff on-site we could ask at the moment. (Maybe we could have asked the sister hotel down the road if they were staffed all night?) The next day staff blamed it on hot shower steam. If that's the case, the hot water needs adjusting or different smoke detectors need to be installed. I can't even begin to say how wrong this is and how dangerous it could be if guests stop evacuating and there is an actual fire.

We had a family room which was recently refurbished. The decor was lovely and the space was practical. There were lots of hanging pegs (for towels and clothes after those Swiss downpours) and cubbies to store belongings. Nice big shower which was handy for washing the kids after a long day. Coffee machine was very welcome and the fridge was cold too! The building is very old and there's no air conditioning. The room was incredibly hot even though the hotel did provide fans. Perhaps they just need more industrial ones!

The room was a decent size. However, when the weather is hot, there is little you can do for comfort. No A/C, No ceiling fan, etc... The owner(s) would do well to make some updates to their property. (ie, An elevator that can fit more than two people. As for breakfast,... Ridiculous! You pay about $35 per person. For what? Drinking glasses the size of a dollhouse tea set w/ plates that match. Food selection was minimal at best. And, when items ran out,... Good luck waiting for replacements. - Sadly, our stay was adequate. Not worth their rates.

The location is great, in walking distance to everything and very convenient. The room was clean but there was no AC. The breakfast is served in the partner hotel. The hotel doesn’t have a receptionist after 8:00 pm. The elevator needs to be replaced and looks so old. I was very uncomfortable whenever I had to use it. The hotel manager is so professional and competent. Some of the staff need a customer service training.

I was offered a stay at the neighboring Hotel Monopol and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was impeccably clean, ideally located just opposite the train station and within easy reach of the city center. The service was excellent, and the amenities were very satisfying. Although I stayed for only one night to attend a concert at the KKL—just a short walk away—I left feeling completely refreshed, as if I had stayed much longer.
