“My second stay at the Portland Hotel, Ashington and once again, they excelled. Staff could not be more friendly and welcoming (Jess and the guy behind the bar, sorry I forgot your name) looked after me very well. Room (I stayed in one of the rooms out back in the purpose built rooms) was lovely. Great to have a fridge in the room and a very comfy bed. Kept beautifully clean (Thanks housekeeping) and contained everything a traveller could want in a hotel room. Desk space, plenty of power sockets……

“All staff were excellent, super friendly and helpful, I'd booked an attic room but seeing my husband on crutches they immediately swapped us into a first floor room which I think was an upgrade as it had a huge freestanding copper bath and Chesterfield sofa as well as a king (or maybe super king) sized bed. Despite the room not having been planned for use, everything was clean and fully stocked which was impressive. Bed extremely comfy, didn't want to leave! Breakfast being included was great,……

“Bridges B&B run by a lovely couple in a lovely house renting a lovely room had a lovely take away pizza delivered to the lovely local pub then back to my lovely room where I slept soundly in a lovely bed then a lovely shower and in the morning a lovely breakfast it was all just... lovely ”

“The Dock was fabulous and exactly what I was hoping to achieve for a 1 night stay between my work days. I was gutted as I’d heard so much about the breakfast but I ended up being in such a rush so didn’t have time to have a full English but the lush lady behind the kitchen counter asked me if I wanted a sandwich making to take away. She made me a huge and the best tasting bacon sarnie with a latte to take away (proper fresh brewed coffee) she saved my bacon literally haha. As I didn’t eat again……
