We had several issues with this property.
Communication was very poor with the manager/owner. I had sent several messages before our arrival asking about swim towels, but received no response. I sent another message about arrival instructions the week before our arrival asking about access to the property.We were going to be on a cruise without WiFi, and I was concerned we would not have WiFi at the port when we disembarked. I had to call VRBO the morning we were arriving, as I had received no information on how to access the property. Customer service attempted to call the manager/owner on 2 different numbers without luck. Finally I did receive a text from the manager/owner with the details.
The sheets and bedding on the bed in master bedroom was damp. Initially we thought it felt cold from the A/C. When my husband and I got into bed, we realized the sheets at the bottom of the bed were still very damp, making the rest of the bedding damp. So we had to take all the bedding off and dry it, before we could go to bed.
There was a big cockroach in the master bedroom the first night. We had been unable to open the door to the balcony, so we think it must have been in the house prior to our arrival. We managed to get rid of it!
The 1st morning after our arrival, our party of 4 adults were sat at the pool, outside. 2 members of the Hawks Key properties approached us asking us to leave. This VRBO rental is NOT part of Hawks Key and all amenities are off limits. So no pool.
