Overall, this house was nice and very updated with regards to furnishing and appliances. The pool and outdoor living space were wonderful. We loved the hammocks.
Cons:
1. We booked this house through VRBO which then turned out to actually be TurnKey which then was transferred to Vacasa. When we originally booked we were promised early check-in, but once this was transferred to Vacasa we had to wait until normal check-in time. When we arrived, we couldn't enter the house because we were given the incorrect house code. We had to call and the rep we spoke to had to go through 3 other codes for us until one finally worked. This was frustrating to say the least.
2. The house sleeps 12, we originally booked for 10, but finally had 8 guests. With that said, the house did not have enough washcloths for even 8 guests. I called Vacasa and rep told me she would transfer to "local team", but I was never contacted and this issue was never addressed. If the house sleeps 12, then it should have the towels, etc. to serve 12.
3. The pool was not clean upon our arrival. it was full of leaves which I do admit could be due to the high winds, but with that said, the pool net at the house was completely broken with a large hole in the netting upon our arrival so it certainly was not used by any staff to clean out the pool. And we had to call to get another pool net so we could clean it out ourselves. For the $$ to rent this house, the pool should be clean upon arrival!
4. We paid extra to use the golf cart. We used it for a day and half and plugged it in after each use. We are very familiar with operating golf carts as we use them often. On 2nd day the golf cart died on our way back from the beach. My husband and another guest had to push the cart all the way back to the house!! We called and were told it was the rechargable battery and it needed to be replaced, but we did our own checking and it was the outlet in the wall which was set to charge the golf cart. It had no power to it and thus was cart was never charging when it was plugged in. I would suggest updating this to make it clear to the renter if and when there is an issue with the charging station. Nobody should have to push the cart back to the house!
5. The most CONCERNING thing to us was halfway through the week we realized the owner was tracking us, using our cell phone location services through the rental provided Wifi. Our phones all notified us we were being tracked by an airtag device. Initially, we thought the golf cart itself had the airtag, but this is not the case because our underage children were tracked to Key West and back to the house and to the airport. I can understand the owner tracking the golf cart to ensure it is not taken out of the recommended limits, BUT, this should be fully disclosed upon renting the cart. And it clearly was not the golf cart but our actual phones being tracked. As a parent, I am 100% not OK with someone tracking my children without my consent (or theirs!). Its an invasion of privacy.
Pros: Danielle, the property manger was amazing!! She responded immediately to all texts even on her day off! I am very grateful to her for assisting with us with all the issues we had during the week.
