“Property was as stated except no hot tub. Shower was cold. Room very basic and clean. Needs new mattress. Pool was very nice. For the price it was just fine. Very rural area but the beaches are supreme. Host Gary is a nice guy.”

“Small, cozy, friendly, quiet....we stayed for a month in the jungle of Guanacaste with Gary and his dog, Wally! The pool is wonderfully shady in the afternoons, Gary is a warm and friendly host, helpful and kind. We were looking for someplace near to beaches, great sunsets, and no crowds....meeting the locals, shopping the local markets, etc. This is the perfect spot to just sit back and relax.”

“Pour y acceder , il faut sans faute avoir une voiture pour acceder aux commodités”

“I stayed at Nakanku Lodge from mid January to mid February 2024 accompanied by my little Maltese dog, Lulu. Everything was wonderful! The tropical garden setting was beautiful. I loved the pool and easy proximity to beaches. The outdoor kitchen was so fun as it generated opportunities for community and conversations with other guests. Gary was a super host! Hope to return next winter! Pura vida!”

“This is a great little lodge, near to local, beautiful beaches. AC, hot water and pool, and full outdoor kitchen access are welcome amenities. I had some trouble finding it, but that was more operator error. Gary responded quickly to my questions when lost. Must visit playa San Juanillo for sunset, and Playas Frijolar and Coco are beautiful with a great Tiki Bar.”

“Great place to stay near the beach. The breakfast is the morning is spectacular and the owners are super helpful and friendly.”

“Latica lodge was amazing to stay at! If you’re looking for that community vibe then this should be on the top of your list. Everyone from all over the world staying there, all having breakfast/supper together was spectular. The owners are everyday people willing to help you out with everything they made the stay so enjoyable. It’s definitely off the beaten path, I would recommend having a 4x4 vehicle to tackle the roads getting there and getting around. There’s a couple amazing beaches (best we……

“Tout était impeccable ; la chambre, la piscine,… Impossible de se sentir plus dans la jungle qu’à cet endroit! C’était magique de prendre son café dans le hamac ou se laver dans la douche extérieure. Le déjeuner était succulent et différent des « classiques » du coin. La plage de Samara était à 5 minutes de voiture: toujours facile de se stationner. Honnêtement, la tranquillité valait la distance. Excellent service, très accommodants. J’ai tout adoré!!! Merci”

“Great spot and great staff!”

“Not so sure this place will stay a hidden gem for long but whatever…If you looking for the most serene & private lil spot. You won’t be disappointed. Leave all the lil nick naks at home cause you won’t need it. Extensive detail to amenities & toiletries. It’s not massive and that’s the point! Leave the lil ones at home, only you and the hubby… your welcome.”

“We did not even stay the night here despite losing money. It was run down, property did not match the description of being on beach but was a long walk away. Beds were hard and there was a dog running free throughout. I cannot recommend this place unless you simply want a cheap bed. The ad needs to properly represent the facility. It's a hostel, not a lodge ,as well.”
