Amazing property with a gorgeous view of the sunrise and the Hill Country. Fenced in yard keeps your pups safely contained. The a/c didn't work so it got a little stuffy. Not a problem for us as it was chilly at night but it would be an issue during the summer.
We were looking for a last-minute getaway to escape Houston heat and found the perfect place. Clean, quiet and well maintained cabin within a short drive of several great places to take the kids. Great communication with host.
The place was amazing..the view was beautiful. The only issue we didnt like was the street going to the cabin, its very dangerous for the tires on our cars so hoping they'll fix that soon but other then that, its a beautiful place.
We were looking for a cabin in the woods, with a great view and we definitely got it. The view was great, it was cozy and secluded and overall we enjoyed ourselves.
The only things I would recommend is a bit of updating, adding a second shower and fixing the master shower leaking. I know it's "rustic" but these things can be easily fixed. The decor is a little outdated. It's a great thing the floors are concrete so the water that leaks from the main shower doesn't ruin anything. I was really concerned about the amount that leaks but we just cleaned up with a towel. While a tub is great, the 2nd bath could really benefit from a shower. I was concerned about the fridge not cooling on day 1 but by day 2 it was working okay. My kids and family enjoyed it so we give it 4 starts despite the things that need to be fixed. :)
Place was clean and adorable, had no issues really except the fridge didnr get really cold. Loved the location would definately stay here again. Thank you so much!

Lots of potential but fell short
Overall nice property and good location. Makes for a nice hill country getaway spot. However, a number of maintenance issues and minor deficiencies (many of which are addressable) took away from what could have been a great stay:
- Refrigerator wasn't properly cooling.
- Master shower door was missing the door sweep and water constantly pours out onto the bathroom floor when in use. It's a concrete floor so it can be easily mopped up, but it's inconvenient to have to do so after each shower.
- Shower head is pointed at the door so no way to turn on the water without immediately being sprayed with cold water or into the bathroom.
- Master shower head is clogged and leaking, spraying water in all directions. Shower head needs to be replaced. Suggest changing to a long goose neck and with a rain showerhead which would also address the previous issue
- Though there's 2 'full' bathrooms, only the master has a shower so everyone was using the master bedroom. The outdoor shower isn't practical with mixed company and certainly won't be in winter. Adding a shower head in the 2nd bathroom would go a long way for a more usable 2nd bathroom.
- Lack of soap/shampoo. All we had was a couple of nearly empty shampoo bottles and a single bottle of very feminine smelling bath and body works body wash to share amongst 4 adults.
- Kitchen could use a few more things. Only 1 frying pan and no large baking tins
- Internet/WIFI was unusable. I know internet service can be spotty in rural areas, but there was no internet connectivity whatsoever. I suspect it just wasn't working altogether
- very cheap lumpy bed mattresses with almost 'plasticky' sheets.
All in all, we still had a good time, but the issues kept it from being a 5-star stay.
This property was the perfect fit for our family of five looking for something quiet and comfortable outside of Austin for the weekend. The view, especially sunrises, was breathtaking. Standing outside was so quiet you could hear yourself breathe, but we were still 15-20 minutes to run and get groceries and maybe 30 minutes to some great nature/park attractions that we visited over the weekend. We lacked nothing for our visit, and found the property well stocked and clean.
Had an urgent work issue arise in the area so decided to take my family with me and make a weekend of it near Lake Travis. Was able to book this cabin last-minute without any issues and host was quick and responsive. Cabin is tucked away in the hills and felt very private. Entrance road is a little steep as noted in the listing but nothing to be concerned about. Cabin itself was larger inside than expected and very clean. Kids loved the upstairs area and my wife enjoyed sitting on the large deck. Only noise we heard were the birds and the wind and there are great views of the surrounding valley. Would definitely stay again!
Great cabin with gorgeous view and amazing night stars!!! Well kept, provided ample bedding and towels for our large family (8), plenty of sleeping options and well stocked kitchen and outdoor living space!
Will definitely be back! ❤️
It was a great space for a family gathering. We really enjoyed the deck space to hang out together. Marble Falls is just a short distance if you want an excursion or go out to eat.

Could have been better for that price
Nice property nice area overall the cabin itself was nice but the water had a smell to it we only had one working toilet for six adults and they say they clean but I'm not too sure about that because there was spider webs and how did you not know the toilet was not working so I don't think anyone came to check the property before we checked in
It is a great place to stay. No real complaints other than the jacuzzi takes forever to fill because of their water system and the owner probably did not know, but the glass on the shower leaks. We had a great time and the views are beautiful. Thanks for having us!
My family stayed at the cabin for a weekend and enjoyed our time there. The cabin is lovely and the area is scenic. Everything we needed was provided. The one drawback is that were only two bathrooms, neither of which was upstairs with 2 of the 3 bedrooms. In the main bathroom there was a jacuzzi tub but because there were water restrictions at the time we couldn’t use the jacuzzi. That left one shower in the master bedroom for 5 people to use. That was an impact when getting to get everyone ready to go somewhere. Other than that our stay was very pleasant and we look forward to going back when the water level is higher.
Had a wonderful experience. This was our family's first experience in a cabin and it was perfect. The host was very responsive and we really enjoyed our stay.
Five friends and I stayed at Mireille’s VRBO Jun 18th-20th 2021 and had two additional friends stay the second night. We also had three dogs stay with us both nights. I am unable to give exact amounts for the fees we paid according to VRBO, but let me say we over paid for this VRBO. The host will charge you additional fees for pets and she will not use the VRBO website to collect these extra fees. VRBO says hosts should not charge extra fees outside of the VRBO website.
We arrived at the house at 5:30 PM and the temperature inside was set to 83 degrees Fahrenheit, however, the actual temperature inside was 87 degrees. Keep in mind there are six of us and we have three dogs with us and the outside temperature is in the mid-90s. She assured us that the house would cool down and instructed us to give it a bit of time.
A couple of hours later the temperature inside had risen to 88 degrees and we contacted her again. She asked us to send a picture to her of the thermostat to prove that it was as hot inside as we claimed and then she would send a technician. It’s as if she didn’t trust us. She said she would call around and get a technician out ASAP. Almost every bed in the house has a large fan bolted to the wall facing each bed. This is the only aid that allowed some of us to get some rest that night. With most of the beds having fans that are bolted to the wall pointed at the beds, it begs the question of how often there are issues with the air-conditioning during the summer in Texas…
The technician arrived at around 11 AM on the second day of our stay. The air-conditioning was working by 3 PM on the last night of our stay. The poor unit had a lot of catching up to do as the inside temperature slowly declined. By around 8 PM the inside temperature had reached 82 degrees.
VRBO management has been horrific to deal with in seeking a partial refund for the inconvenience of our stay. When you have a bad experience with a host the best thing VRBO can offer you is by telling you to contact the host and to write a review. Mireille has been unresponsive to us, and even lied to VRBO about when the air-conditioning was fixed. She told VRBO that the air conditioning was resolved the day we arrived and that we enjoyed our comfortable stay. As you can see, this was a lie. This is my review of our experience staying at the Rustic ARMADILLO CABIN-Lake Views (good luck trying to find the awe inspiring lake views from the back deck of the house, it’s not worth it)
