The university town of Bangor is just across the straits over the famous Menai suspension bridge, constructed in 1826 and designed by Thomas Telford. In the other direction is Beaumaris, a World Heritage Site, and is renowned as Anglesey’s most attractive town, with a moated castle, small pier and trips to Puffin Island.



There are many wonderful walking and cycling opportunities along with plenty of family based visitor attractions nearby, including a sea zoo, the Pili Palas Nature World and the National Trusts Plas Newydd. Day trips into the Snowdonia National Park, 15 minutes, are a must for exhilarating outdoor pursuits and dramatic scenery. Beach 6¾ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
