"Main light did not work, and in the dark, I had to move the bed to access a dangerous wall socket for the bedside light. There was nowhere to put clothes, items or a desk to use and no chair and no space for this anyway. Better if the small double bed was swopped for a single to allow a desk & chair to be put in. The steep and shallow stairs were a safety hazard, so be careful. And the TV didn't allow access to Freeview! There was no crockery or cutlery to use despite advertising a well-equipped...

"On arrival we were unable to access the property and had to wait for another guest to let us in. Smooth check process thereafter, Michael receptionist lovely and welcoming. Property description is not entirely what it seems as whole chalet is a bit miss leading, the rooms are part of a large building and spacious, clean rooms. "A short overnight stay. Welcome was as expected. Car park was full so we had to pay to park on the road which was annoying. Room was clean and well equipped. Shower did not drain properly so you had to wash quickly! Some aspects of the repairs/maintenance were tired and not what you would expect from a 4* stay - but perhaps standards are lower these days?!"

"Unfortunately it was a very hot time when we visited which meant the rooms were extremely hot - even with the fan provided. I appreciate that the hotel could not do much else to change this, apart from a large scale air con installation which would be a large undertaking. Breakfast was a little lacking in quality - although the options were suitable it was a little tired when selecting food items - both mornings we were down between 8-8.30 and the hot buffet looked like it had been out some time and the quality of the product was therefore disappointing. The staff were pleasant and helpful. There has clearly been improvements made to freshen the hotel up and it felt clean and bright despite it being an older building. We did not use any of the other hotel facilities to be able to comment. Parking was not really viable at the hotel however we found the car park multi storey at the back and towards the seafront - operated by gunwharf very good and reasonably priced. I would return - just hope the bfast would be ok!"

"Lovely Hotel , very clean and fab room but could of done with a bigger room with our Grandson.! Staff were excellent, helpful and friendly and the breakfast was tasty and plentiful. A tiny fridge would be helpful in the room but over all we had a lovely stay at the Birdham. What a lovely part of the Island Bembridge is, in my opinion the nicest exception apart from the Needles. Bembridge has lovely quiet beaches to visit and we found the people very friendly. Was a wonderful week🙂"

"We booked here last minute, and what a wonderful choice. The staff were simply incredible and really friendly. We came in a little early to see if we could check in early, and within 15 minutes we were sorted. The bar staff were great, we didn't have to wait for service and drinks and again really helpful and friendly. The room we stayed in was perfect! It was the Luxe Double room with sea view, and so worth the money! We are definitely coming back again! Please keep up the amazing work, you all are a credit to yourselves!!"
