PROS: Great location!! Close to restaurants, shopping, bars, the beach!! The staff was amazing!! Lots of extras and discounts. Restaurant and bar right down stairs. Room was nice. Spacious shower and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were fabulous. CONS: Could use some TLC. Musty smell, loose floor tiles, room felt “wet”, stained comforter and hand towels. Overall it wasn’t bad. It was clean (aside from the stains), no bugs, good enough for a place to sleep for one night.

Had a wonderful time here! The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was very welcoming. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and went out of their way to help. Great location with plenty of nearby spots to explore. We’ll definitely be back!

Great Location. Old out dated the air didn’t work for a day and a half. Staff was rude. Shower had no pressure. This is a sh!t hole. Believe the reviews. Do not waste your money at the Breakwater!!!!

Property was at a great location for the south beach area. Getting your bags/luggage up the stairs into the lobby is a pain as there is no easy access ramps and you must use the stairs. The staff was very helpful and polite. The rooms have a wet/moldy smell I assume due to the enviroment. I did ask for a room switch due to the location of the first room provided (next to the pool and anyone can look into our room from the pool area. Overall our stay was pretty good. I was traveling with my two children ages 17 and 9 and they enjoyed as well. Location is convenient however it does get noisy at night but we didn't mind, we love Miami and the energy that comes with it.

I reserved the most expensive room in the hotel, and the experience was far below expectations. The pool is not heated, so it was not usable. The terrace of the room was dirty, to the point that it was not possible to walk barefoot. Additionally, both doors leading to the terrace did not close properly, which created a significant sense of insecurity. Furthermore, when settling charges at the hotel, I was informed that only credit cards were accepted, with no option to pay in cash. This condition was not disclosed in advance through any channel. I also had Amazon packages delivered prior to my arrival — something I have been doing for over 5 years as a frequent guest — and I was informed that there is now a charge for this service. This was not indicated on the hotel’s website or on Expedia. Moreover, I received a call in my room almost demanding that I come downstairs immediately to pay for the packages, when this could have easily been handled at check-out. I am very dissatisfied with the current standard of this hotel. In previous years, none of these issues occurred.

Room was clean… the air conditioning did not work… it was set at 63 and we couldn’t change it. Awfully cold and the shower water I was luke warm at best… love the location. Out 3rd time we stayed there. Will definitely stay there again

The room was dingy. The power kept going out in the room. The building was not attached to the hotel so we had to go through a restaurant down a ramp and up an elevator that barely could fit two people with luggage. They were not prepared for when it rained for people to stand, waiting for cab or uber. Key cards kept being disconnected. I would personally not ever stay there again.

Please note that I could not travel to the hotel due to persistent flight cancellation from LAG airport after the accident on Sunday, May 22. Despite my repeated requests and explanation, the property refused even partial reimbursement in a clear case of force majeure. I hope Expedia could address these type cases more vigorously in the future.

For the price point over all the property is okay. You are at close proximity to the beach and it has a small pool to cool off. The room was clean but it has seen better days. Air condition works great and cleaning staff did a great job of coming for the two night stay.
