"Lovely one night stay. We knew room was small when we booked but it had everything we needed. Clean comfortable bed and very clean bathroom. We couldn't get radiator to come on but we found the thermostat by the door in the morning. The pub itself was welcoming. Breakfast facilities was great. Would definately stay again"

"We were delighted to find we were staying in a stately home worthy of Downton Abbey. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Wonderful spaces for the guest with fireplaces and comfortable chairs in beautifully coordinated fabrics, as you'd expect from the previous home of Laura Ashleys family, (although subtley not massively floral). The restaurent was lovely and the food superb. Staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds and views over the Brecon Beacons was lovely, with lots of pubs nearby, and other restaurents in nearby Brecon. Our room had a confortable 4 poster bed and lovely ensuite with a seperate shower and Bath, and a great view. It was one floor up and the stairs were wide and not steep so I managed with my stick. We were able to park right out the front door in the big turning circle. Overall it could not have been better!"

Although there was an issue with slow service on our first night, it was sorted quickly and staff more than made up for this, over the rest of our stay. It is an extremely busy place for good food and drink which is great."

"An old building with historic interest situated in a town with many interesting old building which is well worth a walk around. The staff were friendly and helpful. Evening meals and Sunday carvery were tasty and specials were explained. A thing to note is that there is no lift so mobility needs to be good to walk up stairs which was not a problem for us. Enjoyed our stay here and will be back next year as still much more to explore in the ares"
