“We really loved the property and tried to take full advantage of the space, location, and amenities. We booked this property with the understanding there was AC, yet there was none because the machine was broken. We had a later check in on Saturday, so unfortunately, the hosts did not get back to us for about 12 hours. By that time it was Sunday and nobody could service the AC machine. With 30+ heat and in an underground “cave-like” structure, this was really difficult to manage. With that……

“The set-up for the room was definitely interesting. Right at the front entrance there's a landing area to put your bags and a little coffee counter, and the bathroom. The bedroom was up a very narrow set of circular stairs. The quarters were set up nicely considering the vertical layout, but we found it a bit tight. Going down those stairs to the bathroom in the middle of the night would not be ideal if you're not very able bodied. The staff was over the top wonderful, helpful and communicative……

“I very rarely leave a bad review but I received no response from the owner for two months. We booked the luxury room costing over £100 per night. This was not a luxury room, it had no windows and no wardrobe / drawers to put our clothes away in except 4 hangers on a rope. Our bathroom bin wasn't cleaned properly each day, so I had to ask for it to be emptied and we also woke up to cockroaches in the room. The luxury room is in the basement, so feels really damp especially as we were unable to……

“Very friendly and helpful property manager (Gianni) with useful suggestions and recommendations for restaurants, shops, etc. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the location was about the best spot you could get in the historic center, in a quiet little side street but only a 30 second walk to the only coffee bar that opened before 8am (I enjoy coffee by 7:00-7:30!), and a 2 minute walk (if that) to many restaurants, bars, etc. The shower was a bit tiny and cramped but otherwise……

Upon arrival we found the keybox and there was 5 unmarked keys so you had to guess which was for each door. Steep narrow steps with low head room to the floor where apartment was. “It was just an Ok property. Location is good. Breakfast was far away and not very good. Street was very loud, because it was right in the middle of town. Beach far away. No windows. Poor ventilation. Staff was good. I would not go back, though. There was no telephone to call when I arrived. I asked nearby and they told me to go to the next location and ask. I had to call for the staff to come and help me. All very confusing.”

“The experience to be in a beautiful Borgo like San Marco, surrounded by the plantation of olive trees are unique. This Hotel is perfect to move around the towns of Puglia and the place is very beautiful, the rooms are gorgeous and the service very friendly. I would recommend to improve the kitchen specially for breakfast. But definitely it’s a place that worth to stay!”
