“We traveled all the way from the United States for a very special occasion — our daughter's engagement at Chatsworth House — and The Pilsley Inn made the trip even more memorable. What a find! “The room was spacious and clean but the air con didn’t work and the room was 27 degrees all night. There was basically no staff on hand and the ones that were there were overworked and not available for the most part. The meal in the evening was almost inedible the £30 steak was all gristle and I ordered a cheesy garlic bread which I came as a normal one, when I mentioned it to the waiter they didn’t do anything. When I asked for the bill I had to wait 30 minutes and also ask another waiter,……

“What a deceptively lovely place to stay. The exterior hides the warmth and friendliness inside. Beautifully up to date and simply designed interior. Easy to navigate and super clean. Access to the rooms can be up the fire escape stairs from the rear car park, best for us, or through the bar. And we took advantage of the cutlery and plates offered for our takeaway. Brilliant! The pub has a friendly atmosphere, happy customers and a fab live band played. Do check if there is a live event during……

“Room was adequate, the heated towel rail was on the other side of the bedroom wall so the bedroom was uncomfortably hot, even at night - but the wife preferred this. The bed was quite firm and a good size. It was difficult to view the TV screen from the settee on the back wall. Tea (Yorkshire) and coffees were plentiful - not so much biscuits. Full English, plus cereals, juice, toast and tea/coffee refills welcome.”
