"The room was clean and comfortable but very dark, nothing like that shown on the website. There was no information about the hotel or surroundings in the room or anywhere on display in the hotel. The pool area did not appear to be cleaned regularly as the same pieces of paper and leaves were on the floor by the jacuzzi and steam rooms for the 5 days we were there. The hotel grounds were pleasant for walking with lots of trails but poorly signed. "

"Pleasantly surprised by our two night stay at this hotel. The room was warm and comfortable, with facilities for making tea and coffee. Did not see a hairdryer though. We did not have breakfast but we did have an evening meal the first night and it was excellent. Generous portion of fish and chips, and I had the hunters chicken which was really tasty and filling. The prices weren’t bad either! I would stay here again when visiting Stirling."

"The cottages are very tired and in desperate need of renovation. Our toilet seat was cracked, tiles were cracked and paint chipped. Two of the blinds were broken, very run down!"

"The staff were very nice, friendly and cheerful, the bed was comfy, the room was hot, the food (dinner and breakfast) was ok. But that’s about it. I don’t understand how a big hotel chain can justify this as a 4 star? The place was dirty, the furniture tired and you could see paint coming off. Let’s not try and pass it as a character property. It needs investment and serious refurbishment as it’s currently a very old and not looked after b&b than a 4 star boutique. "

"Good choice of drinks in bar. Can highly recommend the Orchard Pig draught cider. Breakfast has a good selection of food, can recommend the haggis. Staff very helpful. "

"We got a lovely welcome upon check in and shown around the dining room and bar area to familiarise us with the layout. Our room was very well presented and spotlessly clean. The en-suite bathroom was very opulent and spacious with nice toiletries. Breakfast was very good with the smoked salmon being some of the best I have ever tasted. "
