“This is a converted coaching inn at the junction of a few roads. Easy parking, good breakfasts and dinners, plenty of character. A bit of a downside if you’re a light sleeper with the traffic and kitchen exhaust system. Otherwise, easy place to stay.”

“Beautiful location and view from our little balcony over the first Tee and 18th hole. Took my partner for his 50th and we had a lovely couple of days, the beers cold and the food was lovely. Had a round of golf which was challenging as very hilly and mostly blind holes. Great few hours out on the stunning course in sunshine though. Wharton has left the golf company group recently and has moved to new owners, both seemed lovely and have some exciting improvements in mind, the staff already seem……

“We had a very warm welcome from the friendly staff and were shown to the room which was clean and bright. The food that evening was excellent, and as it was a warm evening we spent a pleasant time sitting outside with our drinks afterwards. Continental breakfast was served promptly at 8 am and the addition of fresh strawberries and blueberries was a definite plus! Check in / check out was swift and efficient. Just a couple of minus points:- The room door could only be opened with the key -……

“Excellent place to stay with dogs as you are self contained with an area to walk them away from the main road. Facilities good, we had a lovely garden cottage - only downside are the doors are built for hobbits (I’m a little over 5ft and had no issues, 6ft + hubby cracked his head once…”

“Parking can be a problem if arriving later in the evening. Follow instructions given by owners. Breakfast is great staff friendly and helpful. Keep entry instructions handy as had a little trouble finding codes. Rooms 7 and 8 are not where you'd think !”
