Holiday Inn Taunton by IHG

8/10 Good

"Room was a bit small for four people but we managed for two nights. The pool access is quite restrictive, as families have to book a half hour slot in advance and can use only half on the pool but we were lucky enough to get the slots we wanted. Kids got a free treat, which was thoughtful and the buffet breakfast was tasty, plentiful and had a good range."

The Castle at Taunton

10/10 Excellent

"Lovely hotel in the centre of Taunton. We had a spacious, well-appointed room on the third floor with a nice view of the town. The hotel is an older building with lots of historic details / decor so it has a nice vibe. Daily room service kept everything clean and fresh and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is amazing: steps from the high street shops, cafes and pubs - you can't beat it. We'd definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again next time were in Taunton."

The Devoncourt Resort

8/10 Good

"The good - booked sea view double which was upgraded to sea view suite. Huge room with kitchenette. Beautiful grounds and view, within easy walking distance of both the beach and town. Free access to pool and small gym. Less good - room in need of maintenance and modernisation. Fire alarm went off twice on our last morning. Slightly damp smell in hall outside bathroom. Despite this great value and would book again if the price was right."

Ashton Court Hotel

8/10 Good

"The hotel was a riot of 1980s wallpaper and anaglypta, but this was charming and endearing. A kettle was provided and lots of coffee and milk, which was very welcome with a gale outside. The view of the sea from the bar/sitting area was lovely. The view from our window at the back of the hotel (a housing estate) not so pretty. Sea view room would have been lovely. Comfy beds, nice crisp sheets and an ample breakfast. It was a lovely stay and quite homely."
