Guest reservations of 3 to 21 nights receive a valuable credit to use towards beach gear rentals during your stay! The credit amount for this property is $35 a day. You may use this credit for bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach carts and more - the choice is yours!

    COMMUNITY: DeBordieu Colony is a very private oceanfront gated community located near Pawleys Island South Carolina on the coast between Charleston and Myrtle Beach. For a fee, most homes and villas offer onsite private DeBordieu Club amenities such as golf tennis and multiple dining options to DeBordieu Rentals guests. Our natural amenities include miles of beach and tidal creeks an on-site nature preserve with walking trails and bike paths and a delightful year round climate. DeBordieu is more than a vacation destination it is also home to a small number of fortunate folks that enjoy the finest Low Country Lifestyle as either permanent residents or second home owners. Come visit DeBordieu for a few days or a week and you may decide to stay forever.

    MAXIMUM CARS: The maximum number of cars allowed for this property is 2. The DeBordieu Colony Community Association charges each vehicle a $20 fee to enter the community, up to a maximum matching the number of bedrooms in the rental property.

LOVED the view from this lovely villa. Needs updated some on the inside and it definitely needs a deep clean. The paint is chipped and the trim was very dirty, as well as spider webs in the corners. We enjoyed our stay very much. We took pictures from inside the house and on the beach!

Noticed sewer or mildew smell immediately. Aired out Saturday but it returned that evening and through Sunday afternoon. Have stayed there before without this issue. I started having health issues due to the issue as did my sister. So we left and told both VRBO and Peace rentals about the issue. I have requested a refund.

comfortable condo for a group of friends

Enjoyed gathering with friends for a weekend in this small ocean view condo. The views are the best part of this condo. Would rent again.

Ocean side stay!

This condo was the perfect stay for what I needed. Unit was the perfect size for 6 people. We felt that the property was clean and well equipt. There is no balcony but the views from the window are perfect! We would stay here again.

Accommodations on the inside were fine and adequate. The outside of the building was not very well maintained; needed painting on staircase and the carpet. On the stairs had never been swept or cleaned. We were very disappointed that the pools were not ready for Memorial Day.

Unit was clean, well furnished Kitchen was well stocked Ocean view was spectacular! We saw a pod of dolphins go north in the morning and go back by in the afternoon 4 days that we were there! Front two bedrooms were a little too warm, master and den were fine.

Disappointed

I felt like I was back in the 70's. The complex was due much needed upkeep. I expected our condo at DeBordieu to be nicer than any other random beach in SC. Our garage flooded and we had to fight off a snake outside our door.

Office ladies extremely helpful with small house repairs needed.Not so good:no outside water source to wash off sand before entering home. Garage good for storage, small, shared and steep incline. Hooks for hanging towels would be a nice addition to utility hallway. Grilling in driveway requires 2 people to carry grill and gas tank, concerns about leaving cooling grill unattended in small area(children, neighbors and moving vehicles, golf carts). No place to eat outside, no back window to supervise. Nice to have a grill just need to understand time, effort involved in using. Overall great experience! Thank you!

Needs more than an update

The location was stunning and the unit was clean. However only one of 6 main windows worked. We had paper blinds we had to maneuver to see the view, and most especially the upholstered furniture wasn't fit to sit on. We put a blanket over the couch so we could use it. If you are going to offer a place to rent there should be minimal standards you adhere to. Ripped and stained furniture, holes in blankets should not be the standards. Lastly you might want to change the air filter.

Some repairs needed

This condo has an amazing view and convenient access to the beach and pool. There is no water hose at the access for the beach like most beaches I've ever been to have, so you have to enter the condo with Sandy feet each time. There were some small issues as reviewers have noted before, such as water damage in the back bathroom wall. But the major problem I think the homeowner/Peace vacations needs to address is the broken window in the master bedroom. It was literally taped close (which was doing nothing). I think someone tried to use wood glue as well. With windows in the unit not working it doesn't feel secure and I did try to let Peace Vacations know this during our stay. We never got an adequate response. It's quite expensive for this unit with all the repairs in dire need.

We've rented through Peace Vacations for many years and always had good experiences with both the services and the properties we've stayed in. Unfortunately this property was an absolute dump. I went back an read the reviews on VRBO which were left after we had already booked. If I had read those in advance I never would have rented this place. I called the office after checked in to find another place to stay. It was after hours but eventually I did get someone that looked and couldn't find any other options. We will never stay there again. Honestly you shouldn't represent that property. There was mold on the air vents with water dripping down on the beds and floor. There was water damage on the walls. THe tile floors hadn't been cleaned probably since it was built. The sunroom was a terrible addition. I couldn't believe that it didn't have back porch or any kind of exit towards the ocean. I could go on an on. All of the reviews in the last 12 months accurately match my description. I'd like a refund of at least 25%. Please call to discuss at 864.504.7164

Not as expected

Peace Vacations was great to work with and the location and the view are great, but that's the end of what was expected. We are not the kind of people that expect perfection, but we would like accuracy and the whole story. It's on the second floor with only stairs to access. Not a problem for us but would be for others, especially if packing heavy. The condo has no direction or markings to tell you which doors you should enter. We arrived at night and after circling the entire building took a guess at which door was ours. The pictures must have been from when it was first built. The condo is run down with dirty old furniture that is hard as a rock. We had to cover the only couch with a sheet to sit on it because it was so dirty and stained. Stains on the ceilings and walls. Beds were old, hard, and uncomfortable. The largest and nicest bedroom has twin beds. The king and queen beds are in much smaller bedrooms. The queen room was very warm with only 1 vent, but the living room was bone chilling cold. Very uneven air flow throughout. Only 1 tv in the condo, none in the bedrooms. There were bugs in the condo, but we do expect some of that in the south. If you are the type of vacationers that don't spend any time in the condo, then this is priced right and livable. If you expect comfort and clean, this is not for you.

Overall, pretty good. One of the windows came off the tracks when we tried to open it and the crank handle broke, so… Not that big of a deal for us but obviously it was “well used” I would say. Garage flooded because the drains haven't been cleared so it was unusable. All of our beach gear was floating around down there. Again, not that big of a deal for us but just so you know. Thank you.

The property is tired, the common areas showed no sign of maintenance and the entrance/stairs were filthy. Barrooms and kitchen were phone booth size. Kitchen not very well equipped, but appliances were new, a plus.

Shameful

This rental was a nightmare from the beginning. I was notified that not only would there we construction on the beach, but also the roof was being repaired. Both of these emails came when it was too late to get my 50% down payment returned. I have family that has lived within the DeBordieu community for over 20years and they are beyond embarrassed. They had known that the beach construction and the rood repairs would be taking place since the first of the year. Peace Vacations took full advantage to scam my family out of thousands of dollars just to get this dump of a property rented during construction. Besides the bulldozers working until the small hours of the morning and a roofing crew climbing all over our rental (blaring mariachi music at 9am) there was moldy carpet in the stairwells, we were not notified that this property was NOT handicap acceptable, which we both are, the master windows were stuffed with paper towel to keep out the leaks/bugs, the only window that did open was one in the living room and the grill/tiki bar were closed 3 of the 4 days we were there. Thank goodness I didn't pay the $200 a day for access, which I'm sure Peace Vacations wouldn't have had a problem stealing from me. I will be taking my review with pictures I took to Google, Travelocity, and any other travel site to warn innocent people about the Peace Vacations scam. Don't bother with the "sorry to hear..." canned speech. I got enough attitude from Shay when I called about both the lack of handicap access and the lack of a key for the pool. DeBordieu should be ashamed to have you represent their beautiful community. As humans, you should be ashamed of yourselves for taking advantage of people who work very hard all year just to have a quiet family vacation.
