"There was a dog barking in the next room off and on all night"

Grab a latte at the coffee shop, then walk a block to the floodwall where you'll find 2000 feet of murals showcasing the history of Portsmouth. After that, walk back up 2nd Street and check out the antique shops and local restaurants.

"Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, we loved everything about the location, shops and restaurants within walking distance, and having a full apartment vs a dinky hotel room. Only downsides we observed: 1. even with the window AC and two mini splits running, temperatures were a little warm, might be a bit uncomfortable during the dog days of summer. 2. Allot of street noise in the bonnyfiddle district. It's a popular area for motor cycles and muscle cars with loud exhausts. 3. Change the low flow shower head!!! Plenty of city water pressure at all sinks, showering was less than satisfactory due to low water pressure. Hope this helps and doesn't deter, we truly enjoyed our stay."

"Pool looked ok but we didn't use it. Guy at check in was super helpful. Room was dirty, bathroom door was a joke- didn't close properly due to warping,(room door was also warped) air conditioner is leaking water on the floor and destroying the wall around it. My husband killed a roach on entering the room. Walls are so thin we were disturbed by snoring from room next door and outside road noise. Breakfast was not as pictured, no fruit or boiled eggs and coffee was terrible. Won't stay here again. Don't know who is giving this place all the stars and good ratings, but I was depending on those....."

"Well, to tell the truth, there was not too much to like about this property the room, the breakfast or the amenities swimming pool was definitely out of commission hot breakfast consisted of a waffle and yogurt cereal no milk apples in dirty bowls coffee tasted like it was three days. Old hallways weren’t clean bathrooms weren’t clean mice in the rooms. Was there 10 minutes and had three different rooms first one had no water not sure if the air-conditioning work it was so hot in the room second one was just dirty, dirty sheets, dirty room dirty bathroom third one room was fairly OK. Bathroom ceiling was falling head mold on it and had mice in it device. We didn’t find out about till 4 o’clock in the morning or second night would not recommend this hotel. no smoke detectors in the one photo if you look by the door, you’ll see the mouse."
