Guene Cabo

The cabin itself was great, nice soft bed and linens, kitchenette area and bathroom were very clean and everything we needed. The decor was rustic and wonderful. We enjoyed the cabin porch and water feature area. There is no live music as advertised and the bar was pretty iffy. The band stand and bar do have a lot of potential though.

Great 3 night stay

Check-in from the owners of the property was absolutely "pain-free" and the cabin was perfect for our time there. Great location (the Uber rides to Gruene were only $15 each way!) ONLY complaint (and not a deal-breaker or anything) was that the big screen television and patio for the speakeasy was directly against the wall for us so we could hear all of it. Luckily I had headphones to fall asleep too but my wife did not. Overall 5 star experience; accommodating for our dogs with the "dog corral" and good space in the room for their crate when we had to head into town. Bed was super comfy, fridge was super cold, shower was great, and decor in the room was great too. Highly recommend.

Mixed feelings

Read fine print ... you are staying next to an outside bar.. the stage is right outside your bedroom window and it is loud! The music was good the atmosphere was nice but again the entertainment if not prepared will be overbearing. Over all good location just the amount of space needed.

Not what I expected

The good: The cabin itself is beautiful, quaint, clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. The grounds were enjoyable. The not so good: After returning from dinner, we enjoyed the musician, bartender and a cocktail in the outdoor bar area. When we went into our cabin for the night, he started his 2nd set which literally was right outside of our window. That wasn't too bad. He did stop for the night around 10pm as advertised by the owner. But that's when the party started which went on until 1:30am. The food truck had their music playing quite loudly on top of the bar's music playing a different genre. The patrons got very loud as the night went on. Also, there was some incident with an unruly customer at the bar so the police had to be called. We saw this from our window when we heard people came onto our front porch. This was all very unsettling and we got little sleep. We had a full day planned the next day which this impacted. We checked out and drove home 4 hours rather than experience another night like that one. I do not like leaving such reviews, but had I known what to expect vs what was advertised on the ad about the music, my decision to book here would have been different.

Relaxation at the river

Dawn is a gracious hostess. We loved our room . The outdoor cooking area was great, bring a steak and cook out. The music at the Hill Country Tap was a nice back drop to our special dinner.

Very nice

The room was neat, clean, and smelled wonderful. The property manager was easy to contact when we were having problems with the WiFi. The one negative was that there was an outdoor bar with a live DJ directly outside the bedroom window and didn’t shut down until after midnight if you want a romantic early night.

Adorable Cabins but...

Had a wonderful time at the Gruene Cabin. It is adorable. Clean well done and the beds are super comfortable. The cabin itself couldn't be better however just so you know and aren't surprised like I was, it is not in Gruene. It is not within walking distance of Gruene or anything else. It is at least 5 miles out of town and on a VERY busy road. The cabins face this road and it is endlessly traveled by 18 wheelers carrying gravel to the local gravel pit. So during the day, it is noisy...really noisy! At night, it is wonderful and quiet. There is an outdoor bar next door which looked fun but we weren't there when it was open (Wed-Sun). We were there to go to Gruene Hall and it would have been better to be a bit closer. If that isn't important to you then this place would be great. If they were further from the road and less noisy I would have given them a 5 star.

Best Cabin stay

We had a wonderful 10 yr anniversary stay, all the amenities were terrific! We will definitely come back! It’s at a perfect location for a getaway! It was very relaxing!! The property manager is very nice and welcoming! We loved our stay!!!

Incredible

Was an amazing experience at this property! The owners are so friendly especially Dawn! Place was so clean, and comfortable! What we did not know when booking until the night we got there was that in walking distance directly next door is an open bar which had a wonderful bartender who made you feel right at home! Also a taco truck right outside of parking lot that is the BEST tacos you’ll ever have! We will definitely be back! Only a 5-7 minute drive to Gruene!

The cabin was cute and very clean. We were surprised and the close proximity to FM1102 as well as the noise from the bar next door that went on until midnight.

We expected a quiet night of sleep but our cabin adjoined to a bar area. The noise, partying, and loud obscenities went on until 1:00 in the morning.

Amazing property, quaint and secluded from the busyness of the city. Centered perfectly between several destinations. Host was very pleasant and saw to our every need. I definitely recommend a visit to this cabin. We will be back!

PERFECT Get a way!

We loved staying at “ The Gruene Cabin” ! Hubby and I enjoyed celebrating our anniversary weekend in Gruene. We are empty nesters with our lil’ schnauzer in tow every where we go. The new dog run/ play area is perfect! Dawn and Rowland are wonderful hosts! We will be back :)

We'll be back...

This spot exceeded our expectations. We grew up in the area and were visiting around the holidays. The accommodations are unique, comfortable, and clean. The grounds create a great atmosphere and the dog run is thoughtfully constructed and was put to good use by our two dogs during our stay. I would highly recommend this property.

Lovely cabin retreat

We had a great weekend staying in this cute little cabin. It was very clean and Dawn the owner was very responsive to our every need. They had a K-9 Corral that our dogs really enjoyed as well. We would definitely stay there again.

Great stay and perfect for our dogs

We live an hour away and this was the perfect place for a quick weekend trip that we could take our dogs. The cabin was comfortable and clean, just minutes from Gruene. They even have a little fenced in dog park/run out front. The owner was great and she has a beautiful little antique shop on the property. We will be back for sure!
