Romantic Gothic Village - Awesome

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Romantic Gothic Village during a recent trip to Pennsylvania for a friend's wedding. The owner's Kurt and Eleanor were most gracious, gave us a tour of the property, and most importantly, shared all of the historical information of the village and surrounding areas.You truly are in a little English Village and it was magical.

Extended weekend getaway

My wife and I were looking for a nice weekend getaway to Bucks County, and this checked all the boxes. The property was quaint and charming. The location was nice and secluded but with access to all the amenities we wanted, and Eleanor and Kurt were wonderful hosts.

Historical and quaint

The owner met us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the property. The atmosphere is fantastic! It's far enough from downtown to be very quiet and peaceful, but close enough to get to restaurants in 5 minutes. The owner had great recommendations for restaurants and things to see. The area was beautiful! I just wish we had direct a free more days here!

Gothic Cottage

Our stay was a unique experience in a small but cozy cottage with a very interesting history which our hosts Kurt and Eleanor were kind enough to share with us! We had a bit of trouble with the short doorways and the small shower,( my husband is tall), but the bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all the the basics necessities. Close to restaurants, shops and theaters.

Step back in time

Host greeted me with " welcome to Harry Potter". Lots of history in this little escape from every day life. A bit far too walk to downtown New Hope- almost 2 miles. But close to beautiful walking paths. Very comfortable.

Perfect for personal reset

This was my second time visiting and I'm sure I'll be back! I have a dust allergy and Kurt and Eleanor were kind enough to provide an air filter to enhance my comfort. Kurt showed me some awesome family heirlooms and shared the history of the property, which is fascinating. I was able to easily walk on my own down the canal tow path into town, explore, and head back with no trouble. If you want a quiet getaway to yourself, this is it!

Charming & Cozy Hidden Gem

I had an absolutely amazing weekend stay. The cottage was so charming and cozy, a perfect place to escape and relax. Eleanor and Kurt were such kind and gracious hosts, I thoroughly enjoyed being shown around the property and learning its history. The cottage is incredible, like stepping back in time, a magical little hidden gem that is perfect for a quiet and peaceful getaway. Quaint and clean, with one of the most comfortable beds ever, conveniently located just minutes from New Hope. Thank you, Eleanor and Kurt, for being so warm, friendly, and welcoming, and for giving me a tour of your home, showing me your amazing family heirlooms and treasures, and sharing your family’s history and the history of the art colony. Cool, historic property

Eleanor and Kurt's Gothic Village is a piece of preserved history of the New Hope, PA artist colony over the last century. The two rental cottages are adorable, but they ARE historic and come with some minor signs of their age (and challenges to ours). The bathroom is tiny, though serviceable, and the kitchen is only modestly equipped. But there is a two burner stove and sink and a small table for two. Kurt is the grandson of a noted artist and full on historical knowledge. He and his mom, Eleanor, are Board members of the New Hope Colony Foundation for the Arts that now owns the several Gothic Village buildings as well as a Foundation center and the soon-to-be-restored Inn at Phillips Mill (currently closed). When restored the Inn will have guestrooms and a major restaurant...back even better than the "good old days" when we visited the Inn decades ago in another life (as guidebook authors).

Quaint, quiet, relaxing stay in the past

This was a cute, cozy, unique, historic cottage perfect for two. The check-in process was a little complicated for us due to the location. The owners literally need to guide you into the parking lot as it is hidden from the road. That was a little confusing at first, but no problems once we knew where we were going. We came and went easily afterwards.The owners gave us a tour of the village and even invited us into their personal cottage giving us the history of the village and the cottages. Very interesting.The cleaning service did a good job, such as clean bathroom, kitchen, sheets, living space, etc. The only thing I would recommend is a spring cleaning. The historic cottage is in a state of good maintenance repair. The bathroom and shower stall are a bit small (for larger people). Overall, the entire cottage was comfortable and cozy for a romantic getaway.We had a wonderful time and will forever hold our memories dear. It was a unique adventure.
