Do not stay this hotel

The hotel facilities were seriously damaged. My room lock doesn't work. After the receptionist on the 12th morning opened the door of the room, she told me not to close the door again. I asked her how i can go out, and she had a bad attitude and was rude, and refused to open the door for me again. I had no choice but to call the police for help because I couldn't get into my room.The room smells so badly of paint, it's like a gas chamber,and a loud mechanical noise in the room.

First off, the staff were all very accommodating, but the property is really in need of an upgrade. The first room (310) was windowless and barely large enough to walk around the full size bed. definitely no place for luggage. The TV didn't work. We requested a change to a larger room with a window. We got charged for an "upgrade" to a slightly larger room (201) with a "window" that looked out to an internal hallway. The flooring was coming up, the bathroom fixtures were loose, the water in the sink was super hot, while the shower was lukewarm, the safe didn't work, the deadbolt didn't work, the room door had to be slammed shut in order for it to lock. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We picked this location because of the proximity to the WWII museum and hop-on-hop-off bus route, which was very convenient. We wouldn't visit again.

The room, although small with a strange layout (included two steps down to the bathroom and entrance), was okay but we were not told in advance about the stairs and I do walk with a cane. The front desk and parking situation were not acceptable. The front desk clerk took our car and license information. She gave us confusing directions to the parking lot and after two attempts to locate it we found it. We knew it was paid parking but the front desk had our credit card and the front desk clerk said she would give the vehicle information to the parking company so we assumed everything was taken care of. We asked about something to put in the car to show we had paid for parking but she said it wasn’t necessary. When we returned home from our cruise we had a $104 parking ticket from the parking company. We contacted the hotel by email about this situation but they never responded back to us. The $40 parking charge from the hotel now has appeared on our credit card statement, which we are contesting. What should have been $40 for one night’s overnight parking effectively turned into $144.

Staff was friendly but the hotel is in poor shape. First room the heater wasn’t working. Second room the shower door handles were missing and the carpet was very worn. To top it off the bath towel had a nasty stain on it. IHG needs to spend some $ on this property.

Location was good. Short walk (15 mins or less) to convention center or the French quarter. It was close to the highway so it was a little loud at night. Room was small but fine. Water pressure was really low in the shower. The breakfast in the mornings was nice and the lady that was taking care of that was super nice. All in all I’d stay there again.

We booked our rooms 6 months in advance. We checked in and went to our rooms. One of them had someone else in it already. They double booked it. We were moved from a room with two queens which was needed because of the number of family members to a room with one queen. They did not offer a roll away bed to help accommodate the size of the family so some of them had to sleep on the floor. There was no reduction in price offered either. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told they would have to call one, but they can't do that on the weekend. It was a very frustrating and uncomfortable stay.

Facility is run down. Room was in poor shape. Door looked like it had been forced open. Didn’t close right. Safety catch was lose with a screw gone. Missing a shade on the window which let in light from the parking lot all night long. Carpet was in bad shape as well.
