Had a lovely stay the staff are so nice and helpful. Beds are very comfortable and the food is great. Was so nice being somewhere that caters for gluten free with no problems. This is our second stay here and we will definitely be back.

Staff were lovely. Had a long drive and arrived on the cutoff for ordering dinner, but thankfully the staff were kind enough to still let us order. We had both dinner and breakfast, both were absolutely delicious. There was some games we could borrow which we enjoyed playing in the bar, only small disadvantage is the bar closed at 10:30. Room was very clean, stocked with tea and coffee and the extra pillows in the wardrobe was a nice addition. Overall, we had a very peaceful, relaxing stay.

We went to Europe for 4 weeks and stayed at at least 8 places, this was the best room we had the entire time. So much space, you felt like you were in someone’s guest room it was so cozy and had a beautiful bathtub and shower. The grounds were lovely and so was the food. I’d go back just to stay here for a beautiful weekend. Highly recommend.

A quiet and comfortable pub/hotel in a rural setting. well located for Newbury and main routes. Staying during the recent heatwave, the excellent air con in the bedrooms was wonderful. My room was comfortable and everything worked fine. Meals are served in the dining room and on a shady patio - decent pub fare at fair prices, the salads were particularly good with ample portions. Breakfast (£9 if you prebook) has a limited range of starters but a very good freshly cooked full English and decent coffee. All staff were friendly and welcoming.
