We had a fabulous week in this lovely cottage.

We had a fabulous week in this lovely cottage. Very remote, which we really loved! Plenty of walking and cycling to do in the area, either a short drive or straight from the cottage. Lovely friendly, helpful neighbours. Kids (12 and 9) loved the movie nights with the projector and huge choice of dvds, and the cosy living room with wood burning stove. Read the reviews and what facilities were available in advance so knew what to expect in terms of cooking facilities and access to shops etc. so didn’t cause us any issues. Yes, we would definitely recommend Rose Cottage and, indeed, have already done so to our friends. The setting is wonderful; the cottage delightful; and the area stunning. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed cosy evenings in front of the wood-burning stove, watching some of the hundreds of DVD movies on the "big screen", and didn't miss the TV at all. The cottage is very well-equipped and beautifully presented. It was no surprise to find the visitors' book full of lavish praise

Lovely little cottage.

Lovely little cottage. Decorated and finished to a high standard with all equipment necessary in the kitchen and bathroom. Prefect location to see the stars and for walking over the countryside. Plenty to do in the area although you need to travel to most places. Very isolated and very peaceful. However local amenities are sparse due to the location for a dark sky park. Heating, for upstairs, is from a solid fuel Rayburn - which is quite a skill to keep going, but heating is supplemented downstairs by under floor heating and a log fire in the lounge. Hot water is supplemented by an immersion heater and electric shower.
