Great ocean front. It was swept up and had newly cleaned linens. That was not the issue. Terribly dirty old furniture, moldy smell very unpleasant smell in whole unit. We didn't stay. Toilet seat was all chipped in the enamel. The unit needs a complete overhaul.

Has everything you need

Clean and cozy beach rental. Had everything we needed and they allow pets! Love that it was close to the beach access right across the road, Made for a fun vacation at the coast!

Close to the beach

Easy access to everything

We choose this place as it was right on the path for walking access to many amenities and driving access as well. Lots of room. Futon was uncomfortable to sleep on but other than that great place. Other family members rented the place above and it had more light and better view of the ocean.

Great Location

While the apartment was "worn" and the furniture old and uncomfortable, the location was great! Honestly, at this price point, it's exactly what we expected as far as amenities. We were so happy with how clean the unit was, the gated front porch with an amazing view of the beach and having the enclosed backyard for our dog. The few small things we encountered, were nicely handled by the Vacasa staff (especially ******, who was wonderful!). We LOVED being right across the street from the beach with ocean views from the unit. We had a great trip and would recommend this unit.

Perfectly fine place to stay. Also, I was VERY annoyed that that I got so many emails from both VRBO and VACASA. Why both? (This is why I gave only one star to the "communication with property manager" question.) I rented this through VRBO -- what does Vacasa have to do with anything? It really pissed me off!

Owners threatening jail time?

The location is great. The house could use some significant maintenance. However, the main reason for the rating is for all the signs posted around with additional rules that were not in the rental agreement. Including one such sign that even suggested (really outright said) renters may spend their vacations at the police station if they fail to adhere to the quiet time hours sufficiently.

You Pay for the Location

This duplex has so much promise. Amazing location, right across the street from beach access. You can sit at the kitchen table or picnic table outside and stare at the ocean. The inside could use a little updating. The furniture and bedding is old. The binder and directions posted on the fridge look like they haven't been updated or changed in several years. It made the place feel dingy. It wouldn't take much effort or money to give the space a little update. Communication with check in and check out was nice and easy.

Great for dogs; bring your noise canceling headphones

Pros: conveniently located close to everything in Newport. Clean. Well-appointed, pretty much everything you could want in the kitchen and lots of extra towels, blankets, and pillows. Beach access pretty good although you do have to cross the street. The fenced back yard is a huge plus for dogs; we have an older dog who needs to go out during the night so it was really nice not to have to get dressed and leash her up. There is a view of the ocean, but not fabulous. It's across the street with parked cars in between and between 2 hotels. But you do get to see the ocean. Cons: the appliances are really old, and the fridge is noisy. I could more or less filter it out but my husband couldn't really stand to be in the living room. The people in the upstairs unit weren't playing loud music or cranking up the TV, but you can hear every footstep, toilet flush, shower etc. The cleanup requests for checkout seemed excessive. They ask you to empty all the garbage; wash all the towels and put them in the dryer; and strip the beds and put the sheets in the wash. That seems like a lot to ask considering that we paid over [VRBO will not permit me to disclose] a night including a [VRBO will not permit me to disclose amount] cleaning fee. Not really fun to spend the last hour of your beach weekend cleaning up.

Not the bright CLEAN feel the photos give off, and lower unit is noisy as you hear everything abo...

The perk of this home was the location and the ability to walk across the street to the beach and the view of the ocean. The attention to detail of the cleanliness was disappointing. We were welcomed with a very displeasing smell that was musty old carpet mixed with oily bacon and seafood. The toilet paper holder was hanging from the wall with what appeared to be a poor patch job that had been fixed before. There was splattered discolored droplets on the lid of the trash can in the bathroom, dried dripping of some coloration on the wall in one of the bedrooms along with splattered liquid on the light that sat above the head board. The furniture was worn down and offered little comfort. The home needs some handyman work,TLC and a fresh coat of paint. To top off our experience the first night our daughter tried to shower and it didn't drain and was backfilled....gross! I got a response from Vacasa at 4am via text. They did send out someone to fix the shower drain that morning thank goodness. This home felt it was put together with odds and ends of either used or low quality bedding, furniture, and decor. The sound barrier between the upper level above us was not great. You can hear every step, roll or movement in their beds, and when they ran their water the pipes were very noisy. I was disappointed that when I sent pictures of the cleanliness and our experience with the shower drain there was no offering of returning a portion of our cleaning fee. If you're looking for a cozy comfy, clean home vibe I wouldn't recommend this home. If you are planning on spending most of your time out and are just looking for a place to sleep, then this may be the place for you, but I feel you could find something cheaper for that interest alone.

3Days in Newport

Great access to beach.Great view of ocean when no cars are parked in wrong place.( this is from lower unit ). Clean and comfortable except for the couch, (lump), which is low and the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I have ever come across. Quite noisy when people in upper unit move around. Location is great, close to eateries and places of interest.

Great Location

This property was perfect for a short stay with my dog in tow to help my son relocate to Newport. The location made it easy to explore Newport and Waldport, and the beach nearby was perfect for exercising the dog and stretching my legs with a walk on the beach. Nice place; nothing fancy but just the right size and location.

Homey with a great view and access to the magnificent ocean

Excellent for people and dogs with a fenced back yard and a patio in front with a picnic table and view of the sunset. Rooms were spacious and clean. The kitchen had every handy gadget (except tea - bring your own). Cross the street for beach access and walk around town as well. We loved it!

Suggestions

The light in the dining room needs replaced - acting as a strobe light. We did disconnect, but reconnected before we checked out. Outlet next to couch doesn't work (left of the couch) Online and the book indicates there were two beds in one of the bedrooms - only one. The futon in the living room is horrible to sleep on. Realize that marijuana is legal, but the smell from the people above us made it very difficult to enjoy being out on the front patio. What does charge for maid service cover? Seems like we are required to do what a maid service is being paid to do (strip beds, sweep (even if do not have dogs). The location is great! You might want to think about doing some painting, repairs and upgrading. Having the toilet paper holder held up with electrical tape is unappealing. The book and on-line needs some updating to reflect correct information.
