The Shaw Club was within easy walking distance to many restaurants, shops and sights. The restaurant, Zees, was incredible. The little porch off our rooms was a nice amenity. The soaking tub was also a great touch! Our only issue was relatively minor.....the outlet in the bathroom did not work.

Although we didn’t spent too much time there we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The check in and out was smooth and quick, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. In addition we received a welcome gift (macaroons). The room was spacious, and clean and the bed was very comfortable. I will admit the walls are a little thin and I woke up when someone was speaking loud in the hallway but that’s not necessarily the hotels fault. My one recommendation is that in the parking lot, the back entrance to the hotel , they could make it look a little more welcome and hide uglier things with flowers etc. You can walk this town easily and there are a lot of food options too.

The Shaw Club is a wonderful place to stay. It is conveniently located across the street from the Shaw Festival Theatre. It’s an easy walk to Fort George as well as lots of shopping dining. The wineries are only a few minutes drive away or you can take a shuttle. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They also clean the rooms daily unlike many hotels that do not. Uniquely, they have small aquariums of beta fish that you can take to your room if you would like a little pet during your stay. “Fin Diesel” was my favorite. Parking is very easy. They have their own lot in the back. It is free and convenient. Parking is a premium at Niagara-on-the-Lake so this is a big plus. The town is walkable so we never had to use our car during our stay. The Shaw has rooms in the main building and also in a side building above a restaurant. We stayed in the side building and it was very quiet and pleasant. Highly recommend.

Great place to stay if you want to visit Niagara Falls but avoid the lights and crowds. We loved Niagara on the Lake - some lovely shops and good places to eat. Balzac’s is the place for your morning coffee! Only negative about the hotel is the aircon units in the rooms away from the main block - very noisy and very old plus ours looked like it very much needed a filter clean.

They charged me an extra $50 for checking in early when the room was available and ready. In all of my travels around the world I have never been asked to pay extra when the room was ready and available. This is a money grab in my opinion. Plus the rooms need a refresh.
