“We were within about 10 blocks of Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Garden - this meant the only time we actually needed to ride the bus was to and from Kanazawa Station, only 3 stops away. The rest was completely walkable with kids. The apartment was located in Kinboro- well known for the several hundred year old Samurai residences. We were within a few hundred meters of excellent dining options. One of those was Izumino, whose amazing owners stuffed us with sashimi and crab cakes and spoiled……

“The property was right around the corner from the market, a short walk to wonderful tourist destinations in a town easy to travel in by bus. It was clean and much roomier than the place we had in Tokyo. The little balcony was nice to have.”

“The apartment was clean and bright. Cooking was possible and it was a very convenient location. Some messages weren’t responded to which is a problem in an unmanned hotel. Like most places in Japan there’s a real lack of flexibility around bedding (the eiderdown/doona is way too hot with no other options - take note management.)”

“The room was great, well lit, very large, easy walk with luggage from the train station. We were placed in an annex. Maybe the actual hotel is better. There are 2 flights of narrow steep stairs. No elevator, this was very difficult carrying luggage up. There was another room in the annex which you share the kitchen and toilet with those tenants. You do get your own shower, which is private, but its in the same room. You share the vanity, mirror, there are 3 sinks and you get your own blow dryer.……
