The staff is wonderful. Check-in was a breeze and very courteous. Diana at the bistro made my evening by correcting my meal. It made all the difference after a long drive from Charleston, SC. The room was clean but could stand a bit of updating. Furniture is a bit beat up. Beds were not made to Marriott standards, even if it is a Courtyard. For downtown Norfolk, I expect a bit more.

Ice maker on our floor broken. Furniture worn and stained. Young man who checked me out was not friendly at all. He never said anything, not thank you, have a nice day, nothing! 25.00 valet parking seems a bit too much but it was so cold and we didn’t want to walk from parking garage. The room was clean. The staff in the front was wonderful. It is in a convenient location. The only complaint that I have is room service. I understand that checkout is at a certain time but knocking on the doors and even opening the door while we are still in the room repeatedly is excessive. I'd still recommend this hotel! Just make sure you're out of the room well before 11am.

I recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Norfolk Downtown, and I have to give the biggest shoutout to the incredible team who made my experience truly wonderful: Dianna, Maria, Barbara, and Mr. Willis. From the moment I arrived, each of them showed such kindness, patience, and genuine care. Travel can be stressful, especially when plans change unexpectedly, and they went out of their way to make everything easier. They were warm, attentive, and incredibly helpful every single time I walked through the lobby. Dianna and Maria were absolute stars at the front desk, welcoming, thoughtful, and always ready to help with a smile. Barbara brought such a calming, friendly energy that instantly made the hotel feel like home. And Mr. Willis was exceptional, professional, gracious, and truly dedicated to making sure guests are taken care of. It’s not often you find a team like this. They turned a tough travel situation into a positive, comforting experience, and I am deeply grateful for each of them. I cannot recommend this location enough, not just for the convenience and comfort, but for the people who make all the difference. Thank you Courtyard Norfolk Downtown for the outstanding hospitality. I will absolutely stay again!

Staff was so welcoming and friendly, room was clean and just right for our night stay. I highly recommend this hotel if you are attending a concert at the Norva. You can walk to the venue in 5 minutes or less and there are so many restaurants and bars in the area that are walking distance. No need for your car at all. We will definitely stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Norfolk Downtown again!
