It's not often that you run into these old regal hotels that have had a list of guests that run the gamut from Presidents, first ladies, foreign heads of state and some of the cream of Hollywood's golden ear actors and actresses. Of if the pictures on the walls could only talk."

"Bathroom (toilet and shower) was very small and outdated. Carpet needs to be replaced. Beds / pillows were OK. TV was good. Little view of the beach from our first floor room. People at checkin were very helpful and cooperative. "

"Enjoyable stay here for five nights. Clean and safe. Good breakfast - incudes waffles, cereals, toast/bagels/English muffins, Yoplait yogurts, fruit, oatmeals, juices - and a coffee/tea/hot chocolate maker (which is available all the time which was nice!). Great location in walking distance to a nice park, the lighthouse and plenty of great restaurants. If you’re sensitive to noise ask for a top floor room because we could hear our upstairs neighbors’ every footstep and frolick in bed, otherwise the place was perfect for exploring the Redwoods state parks!"

"Outside makes you a little hesitant but definitely cleaner than I was expecting especially for the price! Staff was very nice, free breakfast and WiFi. Honestly no complaints! "
