It was our 2016 Bucket List trip to the west coast and the southwestern United States. I've decided to post (for the first time) some photo's from that trip. Marysville, Kansas was a wonderful small town America type place with a lot of old architecture. Black Hoof Park. The 160-acre park with a 35-acre, deep-water Lake Lenexa, the park is scenic and perfect for a variety of interests - with trails for walking, hiking, or biking, a nice playground, and the centerpiece of the park - the 35-acre Lake Lenexa with a boat launch and fishing dock - this park brings nature to the suburbs. The park is also home to a wide variety of wildlife including deer, coyotes, red foxes, birds, butterflies, rattlesnakes, frogs and lizards.

The Deep Creek school house sits along Deep Creek Rd. Between its junction with I-70 and KS177. The drive through this Flint Hills valley is just beautiful. Take a moment to stop and read the signs around the school house, which stands as a memorial to many.

Self Parking in a pasture was charged $20.00, a day (very sad) and I am disabled or else pay for Valet parking, which was much higher priced. Those are your options. Was not able to connect to WiFi entire time in room or in public areas of the resort. Took my granddaughter there for getting good ...

Ok, so I don't write about or "review" food very often. However, in a case like this, I need to. We've all heard at some point or another that Kansas City is the place for BBQ. Today I was in Bonner Springs, a small town just outside of K.C. There really isn't any reason to ever go there, unless, you want a phenomenal BBQ experience. You will be met by some exceptionally nice & friendly owners, Papa Bob and his wife. The place is only 5 years old, and for the most part, off the beaten path. But Papa Bob has made a name for himself out here. This is BBQ country, and when it comes to BBQ, no one is counting calories; especially, Adam Richman, star of The Food Network's, "Man vs. Food." Adam was at Papa Bob's not too long ago, attempting to defeat "The Ultimate Destroyer Challenge!" What is it you ask? I'll let Papa Bob tell you... "SPREAD OUT ON THE FIRST LAYER OF THE 12” HOAGIE BUN IS A HALF POUND OF MOUTHWATERING PULLED PORK. ATOP THAT, A HALF POUND OF HICKORY SMOKED SLICED PORK. ABOVE A GENEROUS SQUIRT OF PAPA BOB’S REGULAR SAUCE, WE ADD TWO SLICES OF BREAD. NEXT COMES A HALF POUND LAYER OF SLICED, HICKORY SMOKED HAM WITH A HALF POUND LAYER OF HICKORY SMOKED TURKEY BREAST ABOVE THAT. FOLLOWING THE SAUCE AND TWO MORE PIECES OF BREAD, ADD THREE, COUNT ‘EM, THREE, HALF POUND HICKORY SMOKED HAMBURGERS WITH ANOTHER GENEROUS SQUIRT OF SAUCE. ADD THE BREAD AND HERE COMES THE BEEF. A HALF POUND OF TENDER HICKORY SMOKED BRISKET SPREAD OUT WITH A HALF POUND OF LEAN, HICKORY SMOKED BBQ SAUSAGE AS THE LAST LAYER FOLLOWED WITH YET ANOTHER SQUIRT OF SAUCE. ALL THIS WILL TRY TO BE CAMOUFLAGED WITH THE TOP OF THE HOAGIE BUN. FOR YOUR CULINARY ENJOYMENT, WE’RE ADDING ONE AND ONE HALF POUNDS OF FRIES AND FOUR DILL PICKLE SPEARS OR FOUR JALAPENO PEPPERS TO COMPLETE THE “ULTIMATE DESTROYER CHALLENGE” Drooling yet? Think you could handle all of that? Well, if you think you can muster to put down all 4 1/2 lbs of this meal'o'heartattack, then you should give it a shot. Because if you can clean your plate in under 45 minutes; that $55 sandwich you just ordered will be free! Plus, you'll get your picture up on the wall next to the two others that have completed the challenge successfully. If you don't finish it in under 45 minutes, you still get your picture on the wall, you just get to have your picture next to Adam's on Papa Bob's "Wall of Shame." Next time you're traveling through Kansas City, do yourself a huge favor and stop by here. It is a delightful experience! And if you don't want the Ultimate Destroyer, than try the burnt ends... They're absolutely amazing!
