Schooner Hotel
2/10 Terrible
"Our room is not too clean. A unclean teaspoon was left on the bathroom sink upon check in. No rubbish bin inside the toilet. No toiletries, so you must bring your own toiletries. No fresh toilet rolls were given to us. We were offered breakfast when we checked in so we bought breakfast for 2 adults & 2kids. We didn’t get a clear breakfast timing when we asked. So on check out day, we check out at around 10:30am and asked for breakfast. We were told no more breakfast is served, so then I asked for a refund as I bought it separately. I was told that no refund for that, they offered sandwich & cereals. We were given 2 slices of toast instead, 2 cereals. I paid £39.50 for that. It would have been better if we were refunded for that breakfast. But they insisted they’ll make sandwiches but no sandwiches were served. I don’y have high standards when it comes to hotels/hotels but this experience is just too disappointing."

The Lindisfarne Inn - The Inn Collection Group
6/10 Okay
"Was surprised it was a motel-style setting with windows overlooking the car-park. Quite a bit less picturesque compared to all other places we stayed on St Cuthbert’s Way. Food at dinner was good but a bit pricey compared to other inns and there was no table-service."

Bailiffgate Hotel
6/10 Okay
"This is hotel is in excellent position for the Alnwick castle and town.Though car park is downhill then staff is at hand to help with luggage. We found that staff were too eager to serve / attend to unseen needs- especially breakfast seems chaotic with little choice with either cooked breakfast or a limited breakfast bar with no fresh bread. We also found the evening menu limited with focus on meat. Within the hotel there was no area for residents to relax except for a thorough fare conservatory - the bar was unwelcome and with staff busy talking to themselves behind a forest of chairs. Rooms are nice but overflowing with mini packs of all sorts leaving little room to put the toilet bag on a shelf or ability to use the coffee table. Despite the above then we will probably come back if need to as there were a few excellent staff who made for a relaxing stay"

The George Hotel
8/10 Good
"The check in was nice and easy and the receptionist was very friendly and informative, went to the room from the outside through a door at the side which was in much need of an update, as was the rest of the hotel, the room was basic but very clean had a view of the disused pool and overgrown garden, the view of the river however from the beer garden was very beautiful. The food was nice and staff friendly but It took forever to come and it seemed very disorganised, one hour forty five minutes for one course, had to ask for the dessert menu, I understand it had been a busy day but thought it was too long. We had a nice stay but maybe stay somewhere else in future."

The Bamburgh Castle Inn - The Inn Collection Group
6/10 Okay
"Great location and nice pub. Parking on site is very limited but there is a large public car park very close. Staff were fine. One or two smiled and were friendly but the rest seemed quite miserable although they did the job effectively. Cleaning staff in the accommodation were lovely. Food was functional but after the first night didn’t bother eating there again. Downside was our room. It had a lovely view but was in the rafters and getting in and out of bed was treacherous as you’d either bang your head or back due to the tight space and room slope. Just as well a fan was provided as it was a very stuffy and quite uncomfortable space."

Langley Castle Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We had such a lovely stay at Langley Castle Hotel. The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived and made the whole experience feel really special. We stayed in the Percy Room, which was full of charm and character while still being very comfortable. Staying in an actual castle was such a unique experience. We also loved walking the nearby trails and grounds — it was peaceful and beautiful, especially in the evening. Dinner at the hotel was excellent, with great food and a really nice atmosphere, and breakfast the next morning was just as enjoyable. Overall, it was a memorable stay and somewhere we’d happily return to"

Purdy Lodge
8/10 Good
"Good room with a distant view of Bamburgh castle"

Macdonald Linden Hall Golf & Country Club
4/10 Poor
"The hotel does not live up to the advertising. It is not aging well. The lift was broken throughout our stays. The floors are extreme creaky and you hear everybody moving throughout the building. The doors to the rooms slam shut and again can be heard by all. The room my wife and I were put in had a sloping roof that made accessing one side of the bed a difficult process."

The Beaumont Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Very nice room and excellent staff"
