“Main reason for the 4 stars is the non-functioning Mini-Split style Air-Conditioning units. The host/property management had installed two window A/C units, so we give them credit for that and that there was A/C in the unit. However these are simply obnoxious in noise and (strong) blowing cold air. Unit was clean and bright, nicely accommodated. Parking may seem inconvenient based on the information provided, but in reality wasn't an issue at all (always available street parking in close……

“I loved my room! I had my own private bathroom and enjoyed all of the memorabilia. So happy I got to meet and speak at length with Don. He is a fantastic person who was more than eager to share his knowledge about Avanti and the history of that era. I was astounded with the massive amount of history on the walls, in the rooms and on the tables at Avanti Museum and Guest house!! The home itself is quite spectacular with a copious amount of work done to preserve its heritage. It truly takes you……

The back deck was great for an evening glass of wine and we were surprised to see two pairs of swans gliding along the lake our first night there. Our pup had fun chasing the boat waves while we relaxed on the shoreline. Close to so many great dog friendly places. We will definitely be back for a longer stay in the future!”

“DO NOT STAY HERE. I would rather sleep on the street than stay here again. First off, the staff member you text to check in was rude, unhelpful, and most importantly stole my $300 deposit. The instructions says that you have to provide the staff with a copy of your government ID to check in. It is not until after you book that it is sprung on you that you must also send them a $300-$500 deposit (depending on if you're from Illinois) in order to enter the building. I found that very suspicious.……
