  • It took us around two hours to get to the glacier through heavy rain, sleet, rough terrain and wind which threatened to blow our brains away. Not the easiest hiking route, I have to admit (well, it might be if the weather is welcoming and you're wearing a nice pair of water resistant boots) needless to say we were lacking any of those (dumb us). At some points you literally have to balance on a rope (very wet with ice cold water streaming down the sleeves as you're grabbing it) 90 degrees up the rocks. The very end is breathtaking though-massive pile of snow, ice and waterfalls all pale blue as the air is ridiculously clean there. Take extra care, however, the surfaces, little bridges and pathways get really slippery if it rains. Avoid if you're travelling with small children.

Gem of a hotel

Brilliant find this hotel. Staff were superb and extremely helpful with regards gluten free breakfast options for someone in our party. We had top floor room with view over the harbour.

A very nice place to stay at. Its in the central area and is 3 mins walk from the bus station. Biggest surprise is that while free breakfast starts at 0630 and your leaving early for hikes, there are some food available after 0500. Would choose this place to stay at again if coming back.

Good location to explore the area

Hotel is old, furniture tired, but the owner was very helpful and friendly. Great location though we experienced weekend nights to be noisy with people singing/laughing in the street in front of the hotel until past 2 am, not from hotel guests. Overall, a good place to explore the area.

Superb location with reasonable price

!!Highly recommended!! The location is unbeatable. 2-3 mins-walk to the Odda bus station, REMA-1000, the supermarket is nearby. The room is not modern but in a good condition. It's also quite spacious for a single traveler. The price is very reasonable when compare to other hotels in the neighborhood.

The single hotel room was the worst I've ever been to - but at least now I know how a prisoner must feel like. Extremely small, can't use the toilet without hitting your knees on the wall! Staff very friendly and breakfast okay.

I stayed for two nights in late July. Check in was super easy. It's across from the fjord and 3 minutes from the grocery and wine shops. It's a few steps to a bar and local restaurants. In other words, great location! It's a tad dated in the room but very comfortable. Breakfast was great. Very good coffee. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful Hotel

Fantatic hotel with the best view anywhere. Great hosts and a good atmosphere in the bar. Breakfast was very good. Checking in and out is very simple and the whole stay is wonderful.
