"Very nice views. The house came with a kayak so take a trip up the little rivers nearby. You are out of Taupo so you can be right up to the lake (in town, the road is there) and have the beach out the patio. The flowers on the beach were nice in the late spring. The house had all the conveniences and was clean. The BBQ was a nice touch. The house got only four stars because it the Bachcare stocking of it seemed skimpy - we are expected to clean up but were provided a half roll of paper towels...

"Have holidayed in Hatepe for forty years so have rented many properties. Enjoyed the lake side position, the open fire and comfortable furnishings. There was only one extra blanket for the beds for my grandchildren who had come to NZ from 30 + degrees . Thanks owners for letting your property. I nursed with Di North in PN Hospital many years ago when we trained and Dr North was Med Superintendent? ( or have wrong family)??"

"Very nice well equipped large home for the family to enjoy which reminds me of the many hunting and fishing lodges that we have stayed in. Great communication with the bachcare manager who turned up to meet us and show us around. The family are wanting to make plans to come back for a longer stay."
