I guess you NEED to be able to "read between the lines". When my wife and I got to room, the cleaning lady was still there and finishing. we were 3 minutes early. When she left, the room smelled like strong cleaning chemicals and rotten fish. We just dealt with it and opened some doors.
The following day the rain had stopped and we went to go sit out by the pool. When we got to the pool we noticed we needed a swipe card. We went to the desk to ask about the pool access. Little did we know, that this was a "privately owned unit" and we did not have pool access. I text the owner about this. He informed us that the room is "...independent from the resort. The amenities are not included. No picture of amenities on the ad. No indication of connection to the WorldQuest Resort and it specifically says not to go to the lobby. Our price is much cheaper than the resorts as well."
The address in fact directly connects to WorldQuest Resort. When I researched the Resort, it shows the pool, tiki bar, shuttle bus service...
Now...as for his price being "much cheaper"...FALSE!!! We paid $99.00/night. The Resort is currently having rates for the same type room and same time frame at $127/night ($28.00/night difference). However, this privately owned unit owner charges a $90 cleaning fee. The Resort charges $39.00. That's a $51.00 difference. After doing all the math, we saved a WHOPPING $5.00. I would have been more than happy to pay that extra $5.00 to have pool access. A disappointment!
