We have stayed in this development 3 other times and have always had an enjoyable experience. While we knew this was a "pet friendly" home, the smell was terrible from the moment you opened the door. It appeared the house had been closed up for quite some time and wasn't aired out well by the time we arrived. We had to make a run to the store to by air freshners, fabric sprays to try to mask the stench. The resort pools (2 locations) are wonderful for families. Unfortunately we lost a day of pool time due to the HOA fees not being paid current. Eventually we were able to have access and the management company did give us a partial refund due to our experience. It would have been nice to have the house furnish some pool towels, we made due with taking the bathroom towels, but that required us to do a little more laundry. Master bed could be replaced as it slopes to the middle as well.

DO NOT RECOMMEND- Roach Infestation, No help and lack of communication

First of all upon arrival and during our stay, we encountered numerous unacceptable conditions. There was a roach Infestation (not just 3-5 roaches, over 10 roaches and alive) one of which CRAWLED on my daughter.We called to report to Vacasa an hour into checking in and were told they refuse to relocate us or refund us because this was not a good enough reason.. It was so unsanitary and disgusting! After calling for an update regarding our complain, since they NEVER provided us any call back, they stated they would reach out to the 'local team' and would have pest control would come. ONCE AGAIN, we call to ask when pest control would come and they couldn't even tell us and pretty much told to deal with the roaches until they come. The roach infestation is still going on.Aside from the issue above there were more problems that just made the whole place uninhabitable. The refrigerator was leaking water, leading to a slippery kitchen floor and potential safety hazard. Dead dragonflies in the pool, probably because of damage to the screening of the pool which also is UNSAFE. We attempted to reach VRBO multiple times to report these issues and seek assistance but literally told they can do nothing and case is closed. ARE YOU SERIOUS? They state"Book with Confidence Guarantee" but did NOTHING. 100% will never book through VRBO again and would recommend another booking site.

Horrible Stay

I’ve booked with VRBO for almost 10 years. Stayed at Championgate 7 out of those 10 years. I did everything required to acquire this property. This was my first time dealing with the company ‘Vacasa’. Even had to put all of my guests on the list. Fast forward, Got to the gate, gave the man my license and confirmation number. He said my name wasn’t on the property. Told me to pull around and tell Vacasa to add me to the listing. When I called, the representative told me to lie ( those were his words, just tell a little lie) and tell them that my address was somewhere else at another property. That worked. Got to the property, everything was good, or so I thought. I opened the silverware drawer to get my son’s spoon for their cereal and a roach crawled out of nowhere. I took pictures. Then the next night, we made tacos, left the remainder out on the island, I turned the kitchen light on and about 10 roaches scattered. Me and my sons went to the pool at the property, I spent almost 30 minutes trying to get all of the dead bugs out of the water. Pool water level was low as well. Come to find out, the net above the pool was hanging down. This really put a damper on my trip. Communication was great but nothing came from talking to them.

Property fine and location was good for us. Some issues such as no coat hangers which Vacasa refused to provide. Noise rules in the street were not adhered to and many street lights didnt work so walking in the evening was not easy or pleasant

Not what we expected…

It appeared clean but was actually really dirty. Ants in the upstairs bedroom and multiple types of roaches downstairs. It made us leery of using anything in the kitchen so we ate out for every meal. The entry way was covered in spider webs, and patio/pool area was dirty with bugs and grass clippings. The pool had lots of stuff floating in it. In the pictures it looked like this rental had a small hot tub, but it doesn’t. None of the rooms have blackout curtains so you get woken up with the sun. The location is great and secure, but I know we will never be staying here again.

No internet and alarm going off

Was trying to work from the property but internet did not work the whole time I was there. The cords to the modem and for the cable were frayed and not properly installed. I could not of been the first resident that had that problem. I had to get a hotel to get on online. Also the alarm system constantly was beeping (took management two days to get it to shut off).

Avoid - look elsewhere

Overall larger townhouse, clear routinely heavy use and while not filthy is showing wear. No king beds FYI.. Appliances adequate, bakeware and utensils limited. These particular units face south and the pool is in the back so your deck and pool area face due north, expect very little sun on the pool. Area is heavily used as investment properties with myriad owners and management companies, so no pride (or authority) of central ownership or management. Biggest issue was the noise at night - yes we read the other reviews to that effect but took our chances, now we know. Poor construction quality and materials means you can hear your neighbors flossing - good luck if they bring a boom box (as ours did) and proceed to have a party all night long (we saw several during our stay at various places around the neighborhood). Hey I like a good time but pot smoke rolling over the shared pool deck wall made our pool unusable for the kids for two solid days. "Quiet hours" is laughable and not enforced. We called security a number of times and they did exactly nothing. Eventually they said call the cops - which we did - and they showed up and said basically "we can't help you - that's a security issue". Several nights lost to that. VR B. O of no use, don't expect much from them when needed. Property while not strewn with trash had a fair amount of debris flying around most of the time which evidenced a lack of effective groundskeeping and 'so-what' sort of attitude in this high-rental-traffic zone. Vacasa, the operator and probably owner, for their part, was relatively responsive on calls, even those at 2AM to complain about the music, and reduced my pool heat fee when I mentioned we couldn't use it, and heating the pool when I asked for a special exception. And while sincerely cordial ineffectual at resolving the noise issue because of all the varied property owners. Interesting, they offered to send me a "we're sorry basket" which never arrived. Which means either they didnt bother, or it was stolen from our doorstep. Freaky amount of turkey vultures constantly circling set the appropriate tone. Clubhouse was nice and staff were also nice, food decent and not too pricey, and club pools and deck areas are actually pretty nice, if crowded. Gym and little arcade and movie theatre provided a nice little break on rainy days and salvaged some value for us. Net-net, look for a place singularly owned and effectively managed or roll the dice.
