The location is fantastic for touring the university and city, and has lots of very good to great dining options in easy walking distance. The bed was very comfortable and everything clean. The building dates to 1600, so the stairs are tight and boards creak throughout, which may be embraced as part of its character or an annoyance. We liked it very much and would definitely stay again. Management was very kind.

We arrived at check in time and there was no one to greet us. We called the contact numbers on the door and left 2 messages and no returned our call. It was not until another guest arrived that she was able to call and speak to someone and then spoke on our behalf. Room was incredibly small. Location was fantastic.

Near the shops, but parking difficult and expensive. Kettle in the room could only be used on the floor as flex too short. Not as clean as would have liked.

Being 800+ yrs old there is no lift. Room on 2nd floor with large heavy luggage is hard work but chap at reception helped - on arrival, noone around on check out. Bathroom light and fan very temperamental. Mind you head of over 6Ft tall. Beam in 5ft 8". Doorway also under 6Ft high. No refrigerator. No aircon. But great location for Radcliffe Camera, libraries and colleges.
