We've stayed at a lot of properties over the years and this one was one of the cleanest, well-decorated, comfortable, roomy, etc., especially for the price. It felt more like a home rather than a rental. We didn't do any cooking like we normally do, so I can't speak to the level of available utensils and cookware, but it seemed pretty sufficient. The house is really set up well for multiple families, but our single family managed to spread out on all three floors, especially when virtual school was in session.
The location was great (just a short walk to the beach and good driving access to restaurants, shopping, etc.). Although it didn't take us too long to figure it out, some information about how to get to the beach would have been helpful for that first time (maybe we missed it).
A few things to be aware of:
The rental/booking process was a little cumbersome. It felt like I was applying for a long term rental. All in all it wasn't that bad, just a little more than we're accustomed to. I guess it helps ensure quality tenants.
The cleaning fee seemed a little high. It is a big, nice, and new (I think) house, so maybe it takes a little more to get/keep it clean. I didn't notice the cleaning fee until I already booked. I don't know that it would have changed anything since the nightly rate was a good value in my opinion, but it was a higher cleaning fee than I'm used to seeing.
Be careful when checking out. The automatic lock/keypad reset immediately at check out time locking us out. Luckily one of my kids was still in there so I could get back in and grab the last of our belongings and do a final walk through. I think a little grace period (15-30 minutes) would be nice, but at a minimum, communication that check out time means check out time and the locks will reset would have been helpful.
These are nitpicky things that I bring up only because they are different than the norm or at least different than what we've experienced in the 20 or so other rentals we've booked in the past and may be some things for the owner to consider or at least for future renters to be aware of.
None of these detracted from our overall experience. The house is immaculate and 5 star all the way. We even got some decorating/design ideas for our own home that we are remodeling. We would definitely stay there again.
