Communication with host, HSH, difficult even before our trip. I had to escalate to VRBO in order to get an explanation of billing charges or a statement. Couldn't cancel without losing all fees.Check-in instructions were inaccurate. Multiple calls to find hallway hidden behind an unmarked door - looked like an apartment.Toilet and shower were not clean. Tiny bedroom with a few inches around the edge of the bed. Curtains pool on the floor too so I had to walk on the curtains and lean sideways to crawl around the foot of the bed.It was VERY cold in the apartment. HSH refused to provide an extra blanket. I slept with my wool coat to stay warm. One small space heater barely worked, cycling on and off, heating less than half the tiny bedroom. Second heater dead.Kitchen poorly constructed. Raw wood cuts at end of counter top, old used pots and pans. During the spin cycle, the washing machine moved out from the counter top. We had to shimmy it back into place to open adjacent cabinet doors. Even the trash can lid was broken. When I pushed the foot pedal, the lid fell off onto the floor. Trash for 8 days had to be kept in the apartment.HSH, the property manager, acted frustrated we would even contact them about heat, broken items, etc. Communication before and during trip was difficult and ineffective (regardless whether communicating in French or English).One good thing: the location is great, Louvre, Vendome, L'Opera, etc. Apartment depressing tho.
