A very nice, well-cared for room, in a great location. Such a beautiful region! The hike up to Vezio is well-worth the effort. Oh, and the bar below the hotel is a cheerful spot with good food.

Very convenient location. We stayed in Room 10 which has an outstanding view of the lake. We arrived by train and the hotel was a quick 5 minute walk downhill. Close to the ferry with restaurants nearby. If you stay here, make sure to walk down the waterfront promenade to more restaurants which we preferred. Overall, great experience.

Close to the train station, and this was the main reason that we booked this hotel, and no stairs necessary and about 5 minutes walk to the hotel downhill. Return to station is a bit uphill but no steps and mainly smooth surface so just a bit longer but not difficult. There is two cafe/bar right below the hotel so it can be convenient.

Best location on the entire peninsula! Great restaurant right below, grocery next-door, five minute walk to the dock to get the ferries anywhere you wanna go. Another 10 minute walk uphill gets you to villa monastero and gardens. And a tough 30 to 40 minute climb, gets you to Castle Vizio, which is the absolute top point of the peninsula and a medieval castle. From the top of the castle, you can see the apartment and the balcony that’s how close it is to everything. Good jogging and hills all around. And I forgot to mention a three minute walk from the train, so you certainly don’t need a car at all!

Although I booked a partial lake view and did not receive that, everything was cool! I was told when I sent a message that it was not guaranteed (which I don’t get it!) but besides that, the hotel check-in was easy, staff was friendly & room was clean (had a few blemish $ however, did not effect me! Also, note; the shower is very small so keep in mind if on the heavy side! It’s just limited space to move around! Not sure how the other showers are but I had room #4 on 1st floor! Anywho, was very conveniently located! Would stay again, Ty!

Excellent location, short walk from train station and close to ferry terminal. It was a bit noisy from street and also next room. Wonderful café on ground level that served a great breakfast in addition to sandwiches and pastries. Even though there was no reception or staff on site, the instructions were very complete and the access to the building and room worked well.

My boyfriend and I stayed at hotel baretta for 3 nights and it was a great experience. The hotel is in an amazing location in Varenna; 3 minutes from the train station, and 1-2 minutes from the lake. The hotel itself is older but room was clean and no issues. I would 100% stay here again and I would recommend to my family and friends!
