Very clean and tidy room. Very nice breakfast area. Lack of clarification regarding the car park payment will make us to receive a fine which a morning receptionist promised to sort it out when we receive the notice. Hope so 🙏

On arrival we were met promptly by the desk staff. He was calm and polite but not particularly friendly. A smile and ‘hello’ would help. I had requested a quiet room away from stairs, bar etc which we did get but it was on the side facing the A1 and with the window only slightly open the traffic noise was quite loud. There are no ceiling lights so with one wall light not working it was a bit dark but more worrying was the fact that it took a lot of jiggling to get the kettle working which seemed to take forever to boil. Additionally the other double socket came out of the wall when my partner tried to use it.

Convenient location for the A1, but very little around the hotel. It's an ex Premier Inn judging by the carpets and signage, perfectly serviceable for a couple of night. Charging for parking was unwelcome, the site is only really accessible by car. The charge is not clear when you book, it says 'parking available', and only mentions the cost when you drill down.

The hotel is lovely. The room was nice, comfy large bed. Plenty of parking which is free as long as you register your car when you arrive. Very good value, would choose this hotel over others I've stayed at in the area. Very good value for money. Staff were friendly and welcoming and were very accommodating

We enjoyed our stay and will return, only gripe , fire alarm went off at 2am for a few seconds, woke us up and startled us. No reasonable explanation was given .

Half way journey

We stopped off on the way to York and it was very convenient. It was only about 1/4 of a mile off the A1M and not that far from Peterborough . We would definitely stay there again . Half way break .

The property is clean and fairly comfortable, just a bit dated. The aircon doesn't work. The beds are ok, but the pillows are hard and the quilts are thick, so not great for hot weather with no aircon.

Horrible experience

The hotel mentioned that it was managed by Best Western, so we have confidence to the brand and booked a room. Our room for 3 persons at ground floor without a fan and air conditioning, a radiator only. The outside temp exceeded 30C and the curtains were opened, the 2 small windows were shut, so the room temperature was very high. I asked the receptionist to change a room for us, but he said no. He asked me to open the small windows to open about a few inches to let air change. We felt very hot and waited for a long time, a fan was delivered to us. The fan fixing was broken, it was unable to blow toward us, it blew towards the floor. Most unfortunately thing was happened at night, bed with bugs and bite me all over my body (I can show you part of it), luckily except my face. My skin swelled and itchy. What a horrible experience! Is this hotel really managed by Best Western?

To be honest we arrived to check in and were kept waiting for 20 minutes as the receptionist was on the telephone. He then advised us that because we had booked via Hotels.com parking would have to be paid for but had we booked directly it would have been free. The final straw was when we asked if we could access the room slightly early to get changed for a wedding, only to be told that we could but it would cost per hour or part of an hour. The additional charges and parking charges would have cost about as much as the original room reservation. My advice steer clear, stay somewhere else.

Reasonable hotel for the cost. East to reach, good location for travelling and decent breakfast. Didn't like the fact that had to pay separately for parking which is not mentioned previously. Booking direct gives free parking but blue if booked via any other site.

The room was spotless, a good size and the bed was comfortable.The staff were all very helpful. Breakfast was good with a reasonably selection. It was good value for money. This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel and we would definately stay again. Car park and outside area does not do the actual hotel justice.
