The staff was lovely, and the we loved the big front porch, the lawn with the Adirondack chairs, and the view of the lake from our room. Our bed was comfy, and our room, which had a fireplace, was nice, with a very cozy feel. The whole property kind of takes you back to another time--in a good way. The bathrooms do need some updating, and it's worth noting that the inn sits on a very busy road. On the whole, we very much enjoyed our too-short stay!

Lovely place to stay in Petoskey, Michigan. It was our central location to come back to each evening after sailing in Traverse City, traveling to Mackinaw Island, or finding our way to Legs Inn through the Tunnel of Trees. We enjoyed the big porch, eating pizza with friends while we watched the sunset over the lake. Fresh cookies in our room daily! No room TV's to distract, but a nice game/TV/library room to use when you needed it. Also morning beverages available there if you were leaving before 8 AM breakfast. The wait staff and food were wonderful and we appreciated this beginning to 3 of our 4 days at Bay View. Lots of gathering space for our group of 8 friends who came together from Minnesota and California.

We loved this place! The room was beautiful with a wonderful jet tub, comfortable bed and big windows towards the lake. Would have been nice to have a cappuccino option at breakfast since the coffee was pretty weak. The table top Skittles game in the lounge was great. We would stay here again!

We enjoyed our first stay at Bay View Inn. Even though it’s an older hotel it was exactly what we were looking for. The staff were friendly and helpful. And the complimentary beer and snack hour was just perfect before going out to dinner. We would definitely stay here again.

Based on what I understood from Expedia, breakfast was included but what I likely missed is that breakfast was served (but not included in price of stay). We didn't eat any meals. Staff was incredibly friendly, gave excellent dining suggestions, and offered seconds on the amazing cookies that were present in the room on arrival. Complimentary bicycles, lawn games were put to good use. Definitely staying at this property/inn again in the future.
