"We arrived at the hotel during a power outage in the evening. The lady at the front desk had a rather "you're on your own" attitude and offered us no information regarding the outage other than to say the elevators were out. Of course, our room was on the top floor and there was no offer to help us with our bags. We managed to get all of our luggage with 3 kids in tow by taking the stairs in the dark. (The emergency lighting was very dim so we used our phone lights.). The hallway was equally dark but we managed to find our room. If we didn't have phone lights we would not have been able to locate the room number. Luckily the key cards still worked. We got settled into the double room which was a nice space. There were 2 tv's in the room and a pull out bed in addition to two double beds. The mini fridge did not have a freezer for our ice packs unlike the last four hotels we had stayed at. The power eventually came back on and we took our kids to the pool. Breakfast staff were friendly and the food was very good. If it wasn't for the power outage and the check in experience we would have thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"The staff were friendly and helpful upon check in. Our room was bright, clean, spacious and comfortable, with amenities including fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a nightlight in the bathroom (I have often wondered why hotels don’t do this as standard practice). Despite checking out at 5:00am and breakfast not being available until 7:00am, we were offered (and accepted) breakfast to go before we left. We were only there 12 hours, but we would highly recommend this location."

"The property was very clean. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Room is equipped with a microwave, a mini fridge, a kettle, a toaster, and all the basic kitchen utensils and cutlery you may need for your short stay. The only downside is that there is no place to eat near the Chalet or in town unless you drive to nearest town Pictou which is 15 minutes drive away."
