Great hotel. Centrally located. Excellent breakfast and coffee. Felt like we were staying in a museum. Beautiful rooms and all side rooms we visited while pottering around. Adorable rooftop terrace. You have to appreciate history, old world charm and the beauty of staying in an historic hotel that is beautifully preserved.

Basic but clean hotel room. Very friendly staff. Perfect for a couple nights in Pisa as it is close to main tourist area. It is noisy though due to this but the noise does stop in the night.

The property was charmingly old worldly and the position was perfect. But the rooms were very shabby with no fridge, useless air conditioning and the bathroom needed total updating. Overall our room and bathroom were dirty and needed a total refurbishment. As did the rest of the hotel. The breakfast was chaotic - the toaster broke and wasn’t replaced. The coffee machine wasn’t refilled etc because of there not being enough staff. All the staff however were charming and helpful and were working really hard.

POSITIVES The hotel is amazing of you like old things. It’s very historical and has a lot of old artifacts that are fascinating. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. 15 minutes from train station and 15 minutes from the leaning tower. Overlooks the canal which is beautiful. And if you’re lucky you might get a communal balcony to sit out in on the canal. Good size bathroom and reasonable size bedroom. NEGATIVES We were in a side room which overlooked an alley, not normally a problem, but with the current heatwave we were unable to keep the windows open at night due to the street and bar noises which left us with little sleep. The air conditioning unit in our room was also broken. We were left with a small fan that pushed air around in over 31 degree heat, absolutely stifling. The water pressure was poor, and the hot and cold took far longer than it should to kick in. Mostly we had lukewarm water for everything.

Hotel has not used their potential. Great location, great potential for rooms, but their lack of maintenance and cleanliness affects the experience. Very dusty in the rooms. The experience was good though, as it offers a more local feel and great art around the hotel. Bring slippers! The floors are very cold. The shower was also cold. Breakfast was just the essentials.

Good hotel with a great location.

A comfortable hotel in a great location with lots of character and history. Antique furnishing provided a quant charm and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was a buffet that helped to start the day off right.

The room was adequate. As described and advertised in pictures. Furniture is dated and some of the bathroom tiling looks old, however this was as pictured and expected. All in all a nice character room. The staff were very helpful and helped with booking us taxis late at night. Overall happy to give 5 star rating.
