Located in the heart of gold country, the property provides direct access to the South Fork of the American River.
3 miles from downtown Placerville, you will find great restaurants, a vibrant night life, and super cute shops full of antiques, clothing stores and the latest trends.

Guests have free private river access for put in of rafts and kayaks. Guests can relax at the river for a picnic or day play. The river front gazebo boasts an outdoor kitchen, stove top, barbecue, refrigerator, picnic table and evening lighting.
You can request to have a cozy camp fire too.

Sign up for a guided rafting adventure with an outfitter of your choice and you'll be right at the rafting launch point.

At our arrival we couldn’t get in gate, after spending 30 min on phone with Expedia, host didn’t answer phone, were able to get in gate. Once at the front door it was latched from the inside. Then the host arrived and let us in. Surprised that the host lives onsite. That’s when we found ourselves in between two garages that are used while you’re trying to relax. The host was in/out of the garage using power tools, banging, loud music, and talking on the phone. This was day and night. We tried knocking on the garage but it was so loud he couldn’t hear us knocking or calling his phone. And the other side of the wall was the other garage where family was also in/out. The back room we didn’t use, but the exhaust from garages was apparent. We just wanted to relax by the river, which you had to get in your car to get to. The host even came over to just “chat”. My anxiety was so high from all the cameras that I felt I was being “watched”. Not comfortable sitting outside as I felt the host was coming/going from the garages even after 9pm. I don’t know how others feel about host being included in your vacation, but I’m not ok with it.

The Refreshing River Retreat

We loved our stay at Bruce and Claudia’s little hideaway! It was a great place to stay with our dogs during a trip to the Placerville area. It’s close enough to downtown, but far enough away to experience the peace and quiet of the river! Everything was as described, you have your own space and privacy, but they are close by if you ever need anything. We will definitely come back and stay again!

We Can't Wait to Stay Again!

This was one of the best houses we've rented! The owner was easy to get in touch with and answered all our questions. He offered a warm welcome and went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable visit. The mattress was so comfortable that we want to get one like it. We had all the convenience of staying in our own home, and our pets settled right in. We plan to rent this house again and bring our kids this time, so we can enjoy the outdoor fun.

Roomy place with awesome beach

I came here the week of my wedding to stay with my groomsman. Bruce was a very friendly and outgoing host who helped us with everything we needed. The beach was awesome with everything you need, tables, shade, a grill, and beautiful views. Overall this was a great trip and a great place to stay.

Amazing property

We had a such a great time here, and wish we had more time to spend at the Wade's! Their private retreat on the river is the real treat of this property, I could imagine grilling a steak and just enjoying the sound of the river flowing as a nice relaxing evening. We had planned too much for our stay in the area, so we will have to do that next time, but we did lounge around the river a couple of times and watch the rafters go by. The space is delightful, and a very comfortable bed!

Overall great.

A little small but it was okay since we mainly just slept here. There was enough beds for everyone including extra thick mattress for another person to sleep on if needed. The owners do live on property but they gave us our privacy. Any interactions we had with them were very friendly. Remote location with nice views but close enough to town. And a lot of extra amenities and little freebies. Made us feel very welcome!!!

Although we live up Highway 50 and not too far from this location. I wanted to find a place away from the snow blizzard that was rolling in. It was perfect to enjoy the rain, river and cooking in the kitchen. Sweet place to unwind.
