Fisherman's Cottage

Good enough break for 4 days but not much to do there in the daytime as public house didn't open till 6pm so unable to have lunch.

Quiet and relaxing stay

The house is located in a very quiet and relaxing town which is perfect if you want to avoid the busy and touristy crowd. The house was exactly as described and clean. The recommendations were useful and we enjoyed the two local pubs round the corner.

A lovely place to stay by the sea

This cottage is beautifully set up for a family holiday by the sea. From the peaceful deck or balcony you can watch boats passing on the river. Beaches and the coast path are on the doorstep and Plymouth a short ferry ride away. The kitchen is very well equipped if you want to cook. Highly recommended.

Magnificent View

Spotless cottage with amazing views of the harbour from the sitting room on top floor. Comfortable sofa, even binoculars to watch goings on. Welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk etc which was nice. Washing machine was handy, I bought washing powder but there was some to use. Bed okay but a little on the hard side for my liking. Very handy for ferry to Plymouth. Clovelly Inn food was nice but beware you have to book

Nice place, some room for improvement

We have had nice days at the Fishermans Cottage. However, we have certainly missed some things.: It is difficult to manage the central heating, and to keep it going on cold days. The ventilation in the bathroom (basement) is lacklustre, but hey that might be part of the deal. We missed some large frying pan/wayang. The village is very authentic - i.e. not truly accessible by the current family cars. This was not clearly indicated. And last but not least, the bed-matrasses are a real drama, definitely not up to standards. We cannot image how this is suitable for longer than overnight stay.

Schöne Unterkunft in guter Lage.

Zweckmäßige Ausstattung mit guter Aufteilung. Räume auf 3 Etagen verteilt. Parkplatz in unmittelbarer Nähe vorhanden. Rundum sehr empfehlenswert!

What a special find!

The cottage and the village of Turnchapel are both very special and we feel very fortunate to have found them both. A hidden gem across the water from the lights of Plymouth; Quiet & calm escape from the bustle of everyday life. The cottage was lovely, cosy & well-equipped … Will definitely return!

Sehr zufrieden

Charmante Wohnlage mit sehr schönem Ausblick auf den Hafen. Die Räume sind auf drei Etagen verteilt und eines der Schlafzimmer hat nur eine Luke als Fenster, besser man weiß das vorher. Das Wohnzimmer ist besonders gemütlich und man kann von dort den Sonnenuntergang bewundern. Wundervoll!

Great place. Awful host

Lovely place, great location, lovely views and the parking was easy. Wouldn’t stay again as the host was awful,. Payment was only taken 12 days after booking as the host messed up the payments and then threatened legal action for their mistake. Booking in they tried to charge higher cleaning fees than those on Vrbo and despite saying they would take dogs tried to say at the last minute we couldn’t. Shame as we really enjoyed the house and the village.

Beautiful house

Adorable house with amazing sea views. Loved watching the sunset. Great layout and good sized rooms. Absolutely spotless. Lovely quiet location but just a few minutes to the water taxi at Mount Barton. Would definitely visit again.
