Beautifully situated at the edge of old-growth woods within earshot of Chimacum Creek, this two-bedroom home just outside Port Townsend is a picturesque home base for your adventures on the Olympic Peninsula.

This tree-lined property is quiet and relaxing, with an abundance of birds and the occasional deer known to frequent the neighboring forest. Yet it's also wonderfully close to the Victorian downtown of Port Townsend, the ferry to Whidbey Island, and state parks in every direction. Olympic National Park is also well within day-tripping distance, just 49 miles west.

Built in 2016, this single-story home offers the polish and ease of new construction with windows that frame the old-growth forest outside. Come home from your daily excursions to recline by the TV in the light-filled living room, prepare snacks and appetizers in the spacious kitchen, or head outside to the covered back patio for a barbecue dinner on the gas grill.

Other special features of this home include a dedicated office with its own TV and sofa, complimentary WiFi, and a private washer/dryer.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

We really loved our stay! The house was in a convenient location to Port Townsend and surrounding areas. The path down to the water was awesome and we loved going down in the evening to spot birds. There did seem to be a lack of bowls and larger drinking glasses, but it wasn't really a major problem.

Beautiful, modern, comfortable home in a green glen in a low traffic neighborhood with great wifi and a separate TV room complete with recliners. Our stay was marred only by a smelly, moldy washing machine and door entry codes that didn't work. Those problems will no doubt be fixed by now so we'd recommend this mini nature preserve to future travelers.

Home was clean, well apportioned, and well stocked. Compared to the price of hotels in the area, this place was a great deal, as you get an entire home instead. Fair warning though, its a bit of a drive to get to Port Townsend from the property.

Pricey with Pets

Once again I have been bamboozled by a property's listed "price per night" only to pay far more than anticipated after all the fees that crop up during booking. This property is listed as pet friendly, which is true, but they charge a fairly hefty pet fee (in my opinion). If you plan to bring a pet, just know that you will have a significantly higher final cost then the listed price-per-night. And you will have to get through most of the booking process to calculate or see the *actual* cost of your stay. It just feels so misleading when I search for properties with a specific (low) filter on the price, be left with only a few options to choose from, only to end up feeling like it was pointless to even try and find a reasonable rental. Obviously this review won't matter to anyone in the enviable position of financial security, but for anyone like myself who just wanted an affordable place to stay for a few nights (Christmas or otherwise) I do think you should proceed with caution. House was very clean, well furnished, with good wifi. Would get a 5-star from me if I wasn't so salty.

Peaceful Location

This is a peaceful and comfortable home away from home when staying in the Port Townsend area. The home had everything we needed for cooking meals and lounging in the evenings, and is just minutes away from great daytime adventureopportunities!.

Trailside Home South of Port Townsend

This property could easily accommodate a couple couples and a couple of kids, if the kids slept on couches, or an air mattress in the office. The trail next to the property was fun to go on. It takes about 15 minutes to get from the house to downtown Port Townsend. The only thing that was dirty is the shower curtain in the bathroom connected to the bedroom with the king bed had a lot of mold at the bottom of it. The lights in the house are cool not warm temperature. And it was a little annoying that check our time is 10am when it is 11am at most other properties.

Lovely place.

So much nicer than staying in a hotel. Only suggestion is to put a floor lamp in the living room so you don't have the overhead lights on all the time. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable

It was perfect for what we needed. Very quiet, all the amenities and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the trail walk down the hill to the creek. The only problem at check in was the code didn’t work on the door lock and we had to make a phone call.

Wildlife Experience

Home is situated at the end of a quiet road, situated next to a forested area. We were visited by a doe and her fawn every morning, along with lots of birds, attracted by the multiple feeders on the property. The property is a lot closer to town than it seems. The home is very comfortable and contains all the amenities for that comfort. We will definitely visit again!

Lovely property and location, but not the bargain it appears to be at first

Lovely, spacious, well-appointed (including binoculars and a bird guide!) home in a lovely quiet setting. The property is the last home on a quiet street with one side tucked against a forested area. We enjoyed spending some time on the back porch, listening to birds. There’s local access to Port Townsend Bay at Kala Point where you can walk along the shoreline. It’s only ~15 minutes to drive to the Port Townsend waterfront. An added bonus: San Juan Taqueria is only a 1.5 miles away (we ate there twice). One flaw in an otherwise pleasant stay was that access to the property was very confusing as two different keypad entry codes (plus an additional entry option through the garage) were provided in the check-in instructions. The main code that was sent in the welcome e-mail was an incorrect one! The correct code was 10 digits long and was difficult to get punched in properly. Don’t be misled by what appears to be a bargain nightly price, as you end up paying twice as much for the rental because of the many fees charged (two of which I have never been charged for by any other host). We were even charged a damage fee, which the host said was “nonrefundable, regardless of whether there are no damages at check out”. We’ve never before experienced having to pay for NOT damaging the property!

Love the house and its location - short trail down to a secluded cove from the house, easy access to Hwy 19 to get to Port Hadlock or to Port Townsend. We look forward to coming back!

Very comfortable and clean house! It was relaxing and things were modern and high end. It would be helpful to have instructions on the dishwasher and the bigger television. But we are older people! Loved being next to the forest!

Great location

The house was very clean; however, many of the dishes and silverware pieces were dirty. We had to wash enough dishes for our use while we were there. A very quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed seeing deer in the yard almost everyday. We couldn’t get the front door code to work which wasn’t too much of a problem as we could come and go via the garage. We had to leave the front door unlocked as we could not lock it either.

The Google maps gets a little confused but we found it eventually. The house is obviously rented by a company, very little charm and sparse furnishings. You get a lot of automatic emails and texts but when there was a problem with the lock code, it was hard to get a response. The Mexican restaurant down the street is delicious. The house is spacious but sheets are thin, almost threadbare and furniture isn't comfy. Nice path to a creek and nice tree view. I will be avoiding this compnay in the future as the price isn't worth the lack of care and personality. Nothing terrible, just not great. Mediocre.
