This was my first visit to the Dominican Republic. I am beyond pleased with our trip! The resort is on a really long, never - ending beach. We walked for miles. The lazy river was great for a relaxing afternoon. There were pools everywhere which provided the perfect option for everyone's individual taste. The ocean was amazing! The sandy bottom made getting in and out really easy. There was snorkeling on site along with kayaks that you could use each day. The food at the restaurants were delicious - we tried them all. The night shows were pretty good with the magic act and Journey being exceptional. We enjoyed the coffee shop, ice cream parlor and the taco truck. Overall, we loved it and would easily return.

Cons: Bathroom was dirty, shower head was broken, the entertainment staff were terrible. They didn’t engage anyone into doing anything, didn’t participate in 92% of activities, some of the staff were insanely rude. There was a roach that ran past the spice restaurant table, and staff don’t know how to handle complaints. At check out they asked me about the urine that we found on the toilet, why you asking me at check out? Pros: minus the roach, food was good. Plenty of pool space, family friendly, access to breathless, concierge are very pleasnent

Everything about this resort was excellent from check-in, the rooms, the property, the pools, and all the fun things to do throughout the day. The staff is super friendly and always walking around smiling and interacting with everybody.

This was a great resort with gave us a lot of value for what we paid. For a family of 5, (3 teens 13,13, & 15), my wife and I and the kids had a great time. The staff is top notch with exceptional customer service. They are very hard workers and will meet your needs to help you with a simple request for a drink or helping you find your way. The rooms were very clean and very nice. We even had a little jacuzzi on the back patio. Our concierge was also a great help and helped us figure out little gifts for our family and making a reservation for Spice (overrated IMO). Save yourself the hassle and skip it. My wife and I also sat through the 1.5 hr presentation that they offered upon arrival and stuck to our "No" at the end to end up with "leisure cash" that we applied to the spa to get a couples massage. All in all, my kids loved the beach, endless supply of food and virgin drinks (pina coladas), pool with 4 slides ("splash zone"). We didn't pay extra for any excursions and felt like we still got our money's worth. There are always hourly activities going on and shows at the theater at night. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Beautiful property with great beach access and plenty of pools. Lots of food options and most are pretty good! Lunch can be a bit repetitive but theres so much eating throughout the day anyway. Preferred access is worth it if you want some extra perks, including the personal concierge who takes care of everything for you. Highly recommend Dreams Onyx.
