Hoy desde que hemos vuelto a casa ya no aguantamos de comentar lo malo que estuvo este resort para nosotros. Teníamos mucha expectativa con este resort ya que en años anteriores hemos visitado al Royalton Punta Cana, en el cual tuvimos una experiencia agradable. Pero este (Royalton Bávaro) está muy mal mantenida. Nos dieron una habitación que está casi todo dañada, la puerta del baño no se cierra (la puerta se abría sola porque el seguro no funciona), la nevera estaba torcida y la puerta de la gaveta también está torcida, algo que nos pareció super incómodo y chistoso. Además, el agarre de mano para abrir el balcón está literalmente roto. No nos pusieron tapas en el jabón de baño. Con respecto a la comida, estuvo malísimo, la langosta estaba ya dañada y en general había mucho plato que nos pareció muy salado. En resumen nunca hemos estado en un resort de tan mal calidad. Espero que tomen en cuenta las críticas (sugerencias) y que mejoren para el bien de su futuro

Pretty interesting resort: a lot of families were there with kids which is absolutely incredible and explains a lot. Our room was fresh and cleaned on daily basis. Few things were addressed in timely fashion; one was lingering but it was not major. Food was very decent given that majority of resorts are cutting out that expense. Food service was generic like you spot in every other resort. Waitresses were responding pretty quick to a request; few tried not to see you present in the buffet area. Restaurants were very decent; my famous was Steak House, Rio; Italian was a little slow to serve but the food was good. Coffee shop was the best: everything that you'd want to get sweets, coffee, ice creams, etc. There are lots of pools including one for little kids and the start was the "Lazy River" with lots of waterfalls that made the whole experience joyful. There are slides for kids and adults too :). The entertainment was OK. Kids were happy! N16 building concierge was helpful addressing some issues (but not all!) and had lost interest after I denied all his upselling attempts. He has seemingly tried to get the whole family engaged into that with the concealed words and not telling it straight. Alcohol: drinks were mediocre in taste; I didn't get one I liked throughout the week of staying at the resort. Water pressure in shower was very good in our room on the 3rd floor. The resort's staff was friendly and attentive. In overall I would give 4.5 starts to this resort.

I booked this trip through Expedia and Upon check in on 4/30/26 I was told the room that I booked was not available and all they had available was a king bed room. I was told that if I wanted the room that I originally booked I would have to check out the following day at 12PM and wait until 5 PM to check in into the room. I originally booked a 2 queen beds room and unbeknownst to me these rooms are subject to change based on availability. My fault for not reading their fine print. I reached out to my concierge, Alexander (Expedia) and the following day we had the room we needed! Later that evening when we gave our baby a bath, we drained the water and all the water filled the floors! When I reported it, it took forever to get a technician to come to the room since there was only 1 working for the entire resort that evening 5/1/26. This guy finally shows up at 9:45pm knocking on my door like he’s the police as my family was sleeping. I answered the door and he told me he was there to look at the tub and I told him that it was late and the kids were sleeping to come back tomorrow morning in Spanish to him. All of this has been communicated with Alexander and he did Stay late to try and help but it was out of his control. The following day I reached out to Alexander at 8:25am on 5/2/26 since he told me that he would be at work at 7am. I didn’t get a response back from him until 10:14am when he told me he got out of a meeting. By then I had already gone to the lobby to complain

The hotel itself is nice the buffet very good food the room was nice and clean. The restaurants food was very good but I did have one big issue! No coffee in many restaurants, I went to eat and asked for coffee and I was told many times no coffee. One server did go all the way to the lobby and came back with coffee which I was not expecting and was very nice of him (tip him very well for that) the service around the pool area could be better, I asked 5 different people for a margarita and they keep telling me oh I don’t work around this area, this is not my area. But no server was coming so I ended up having to go to the bar myself. The music was not good, all American music like American wedding type of music, not what I was expecting going to DR! I wanted some bachata some merengue, I felt as if I was in Florida. The buffet food was excellent, the Bar was very good as well. The workers very nice as well. rude and unhappy bar staff, aggressive and annoying staff selling diamond club memberships, broken fridge, sliding door lock and room door lock (a waste of money in upgrading to a pool room), teppanyaki and brazilian resto food and staff were disappointing. shoutout to Francisco from the italian resto and texmex resto, he was very polite and always went above and beyond. will not recommend and will not go back

The room seemed clean to the naked eye, there were somethings that needed taken care of and it was, once we called the front desk. But housekeeping needs to do a better job as well as the maintenance people (ex) Shower was dirty, the outlets haven't been cleaned, dirt and debris on them. The coffee maker looks like it could be a fire hazard (needs to be replaced). The sliding door handle is broken and not safely secure except for the top latch. Mini fridge wasn't stable, it rocked when opening and getting things out, the shower walls need major repair. there are holes in the ceiling that needs to have a repatching to repair the issues. The shower drain isnt completely attached to the drain hole.. (which in turn i think cause the cockroach to say hi to us). But I get it, its their domain.. But it definitely had me screaming and running out.. LOL.. im.not a bug girl..Other than that Staff, Entertainment, Food Drinks, Spa was awesome. Special acknowledgement to Ranfi (our concierge) he was very attentive

This was a nightmare vacation, the worst ever with Royalton.we arrived at 2 pm and check in was at 3pm. Was told go eat and come at 4 wich is unacceptable but ok.when arrived at 4:15 was told they would assign our 2 swim out rooms.We go to the rooms bell dot just drops us and leaves asap,guess what there were people in 1 room , in the other room a sign don’t disturb, bell boys sad you have to wait but we don’t know when they will leave, I had to walk back to to front desk, they sad without apology we give you other rooms and not next to each other wich I haves 3 year old and my 75 years old parent, that was the point of vacation to be together. So fine , we go to other rooms assigned guess why lol there are still people inside on the room, we thinking we are on a hidden camera or something.i go back to the front desk again without apology they gimme a piece of paper with another room, I go with the baby in the heat is already 6pm. Guess what still people inside , unbelievable, go back again for other rooms, they assign the 3 room , air conditioner not working, again to lobby assign another room, broken toilet , shower leaking , moldy bathroom.i finally gave up by 8pm, talked to expedia told me they can’t get in touch with hotel have to wait 72 hours,I finished my vacay expedia just emailed me saying giving 500$$ key cash which i haven’t credit it yet, nightmare. Food sucked, no bottle water at the resort except the room, facilities falling apart even though is a 8 year resort

I recently stayed at the Royalton Bavaro and would rate my overall experience as very good. The service throughout the resort was superb, with staff consistently friendly and attentive. The pools and beach were highlights of the trip—both were clean, well-maintained, and offered a relaxing atmosphere. The buffet exceeded expectations, with a wide selection of food and excellent service. It was easy to find something enjoyable at every meal. The à la carte restaurants, particularly Hunter’s and Zen, were good experiences overall, though the food itself was more average compared to the buffet. One area that could use improvement is the two chip trucks. During our stay, only one staff member was preparing and serving food, which resulted in long wait times. Adding an additional staff member would make a noticeable difference and improve the guest experience. We did encounter a couple of issues with our room. The toilet seat was loose and eventually came off, and we experienced inconsistent hot water. While these were inconveniences, they did not overshadow the overall positive experience. In summary, Royalton Bavaro offers a great vacation with excellent service, beautiful amenities, and strong dining at the buffet, with just a few areas that could be improved.

We stayed in the Chairman Building and upgraded to the Diamond Club because before our trip I had read reviews mentioning humidity, insects, and cleanliness concerns in some regular rooms. Even in our upgraded room, the floors did not feel very clean. The biggest issue was the shower water in the Chairman Building. It was cold the entire week. We reported it on the first day and were told it would be fixed, but it never was. One of the main attractions, FlowRider, was broken during our stay, and reviews mentioned it had already been broken the week before. The kids’/teen club was also disappointing and not really worth using. Another thing to note is that all pools close around 5:30 PM, so guests cannot use them afterward. The Diamond Club 1 hour hydrotherapy benefit could not really be used because part of the spa hydrotherapy area was not functioning. Our butler Joel was excellent and helped us with dinner reservations. Staff overall were friendly. The Japanese hibachi restaurant was the best dining experience. Other restaurants were average, and overall food was about 5–6/10. Breakfast omelet stations and fresh fruit were very good. There are food trucks around the resort for lunch, but one near the Diamond Club pool had extremely slow service with very long waits, half an hour on average. The beach was beautiful, although there was a lot of seaweed during our stay.

My stay at Royalton Bávaro was extremely disappointing, primarily due to the level of customer service, which was consistently poor. Throughout the stay, many staff members came across as indifferent or outright rude. It often felt like service was conditional - only improving when tips were involved. While not every employee behaved this way, it was common enough to significantly impact the overall experience. What stood out most was the inconsistency in how guests were treated. On multiple occasions, I observed other guests receiving warm, attentive service while I was met with minimal engagement. As a Latino traveler, this created an uncomfortable perception that appearance may have influenced the level of service provided. The checkout experience was particularly disappointing. The staff member assisting me did not greet me, did not ask about my stay, and did not say thank you. He simply cut off my wristband without a word. At the same time, another guest next to me was greeted warmly and treated in a completely different manner. That contrast was hard to ignore. Overall, the lack of professionalism, basic courtesy, and consistency in guest treatment made this a frustrating experience. A resort of this caliber should hold its staff to a much higher standard.

Resort grounds were clean but room definitely could have been cleaned better. Food was ok at at best - especially buffet. Most staff friendly but if you want even just basic service be prepared to tip prior to service.

Resort was great some of the rest were hit and miss. Hunter steakhouse was a bad experience. Ribs came out rare and flank steak was overcooked. Italian Grazie was fabulous and teppanyaki first night was awesome but on last day we went back everything was salty. Sushi à la carte was great but took way too long for food to arrive. All in all great place to relax and in wind. Especially with the lazy river
